Today is sunny, so far winds are calm. Today is Wednesday. Have to remember that. Missed church last Wednesday night because I thought it was Tuesday. LOL

Moving slow this morning. Friend texted me and has 15 more chickens to give me. I like this deal, free half grown CCX! I’m taking a large dog crate to go get them.

Well I didn’t get to the dried up mudhole and now it’s a mud hole again. But I’ll get to it when it dries up again.

It took me 3 tries to get one load of blue jeans washed. LOL

Power came back on. Chicks were fine. The sun came out, back in, out again…. Enough solar heat that I turned heat lamps off. Power went off again. Later came back on. Real windy. As of now, power is on, heat lamps on, chicks have feed and water.

Storm blew in the wee hours of this morning. Power is off. I called automated system to report it. Then I called and actually spoke to someone and told her I had a bunch of baby chicks with no heat lamps and sure would appreciate anything they could do. She said there’s over 4,000 with no power...

Some days it’s nice to not get dressed and just slop around all day. For you, it’s your gown. For me it’s sweat pants and sloppy big tshirt. I usually pick a rainy bitter cold day, just don’t my Carhart’s to go outside for animal chores. It’s down time and we all need that sometimes.

Coffee is ready, gonna be a nice day. I think I’m gonna work on mud holes. I have a large one where I need to back up and have almost gotten stuck before. So I have to angle the truck to avoid the mud trap. My son told me to wait for it to dry up, put down a layer of lime, a layer of dirt, etc...

Wow! I’ve wrestled sheets of plywood, heavy, unwieldy and awkward to handle. This is pure genius. Now I just need a shop to do this in!

Chicks are doing fine in the coop. I turn off 3 heat lamps, then turn them back on around 5 or 6 PM. Supposed to rain tomorrow but temperatures will be in the 50’s for a low, 70’s for high.

On the last of my coffee, then up to start the day. Slept past 6, that’s late for me. Long list of things to do, gotta pick something and get started.

Fencing is a lot of work, but you will be so glad to have it done. I like your strategy, not so nice neighbors get the used ugly fence. Prospective buyers can look at new fence.
