DSS (8- 3rd grade) and DSD (6=1st grade) are new readers and I'd love some tips on how to help them. DSD has struggled with reading the whole time in school. He has worked with a reading specialist/teacher all through school so far, and he has really come a long way. Last year it started...
:hugs I sometimes am the most impatient person I know, and waiting for lambs is hard!!! That's what I thought about my ewe's udder too, but boy it got WAY bigger than I expected that year. I kept thinking, "it can't get any bigger!" and then it would! :lau
And I'm sorry your vet fee is so...
This past Feb I had a ewe who was preggo, and I had a due date because ram owner saw her bred. Well, a day or two before that date she prolapsed. The vet came out, and I asked him about inducing her because I knew her due date. He said no, and I was a little irked because I was really worried...
This thread is so much fun. I would have loved the Popples sheets, but I wouldnt' have paid that money for them. What an awesome deal! I wish I had the time to commit to sales like that, but heck, I can never find enough time in the day! :barnie
Wait, we only contribute one bar? I thought we had to contribute one bar per person! If it's just one bar I'd love to participate. I am concentrating on making soap so I can sell it in December, so I wasn't going to do it if it was a lot of bars. I think I can handle one. :P
Sounds like she could be close, and the mucous you saw earlier could have been a mucous plug. If she doesn't lamb and continues to refuse food, she may have pregnancy toxemia. Sounds like she settled a cycle after you thought though, so the timing might be perfect for her. :)
Oh, and one...
Was she only in with the ram to be bred and then removed? Or was she in with the ram for a few weeks/months? If it's the latter, she's probably due later than expected. I wouldn't do anything. Sounds like she's doing fine and will lamb when she's ready. :)
I wouldn't bother with a mastitis test. If you're referring to the CMT it doesn't work super well for goats, and it should just be used as a guide. IMO it's a waste of money. I bought a quart of teat dip from Hoegger's last season and I'm STILL using it. It gets diluted for make 1 gallon of...
Well, my dad and I made 2 wooden molds this weekend! It was cheap...he had the wood already and I just had to buy hardware (threaded rods and wingnuts) and it was about $5 per mold. I could have done it slightly cheaper if we'd used thinner rods. I'll post pics soon!
I'm not exactly sure. She'd have some pretty big upset stomachs with Celiac's, right? They eat a good amount of processed food and I honestly think that won't change. :/
You're doing a great job! Your stitches look nice and even. To me both sides look the same. Are you sure you're switching from purl to knit? Either way, I think it looks like it'll be a very warm and squishy scarf!
Last year the kids and I gathered 2 feedsacks full of black walnuts from our trees. I left the bags out in the yard and never got around to doing anything with them. This spring I went to move the bags and surprise!, they were empty! I think the squirrels had a good winter.
I think...
