Maori words with "wh" are pronounced as a "f" Whangaroa is pronounced - fung-a-raw-a (but you roll the r. :) Waitangi is pronounced - why-toungue-ee. It is such a beautiful spot.

Where we live is a 30 minute drive from a place called Whangaroa. It's harbour & fishing are well known. Marlin fishing is great here. And there are some beautiful places in the bay. So many little settlements all around Whangaroa Harbour/Bay. We are not too far from a place called Waitangi...
