If they are the curved orange roofing tiles like in a mexican movie, I wouldn't break them up. That is terra cotta and the razor sharp edges last for decades. Dangerous for a walkway.
I like the idea of edging or a border. That could save you a lot of money.
I don't know anything about those liners, but I believe steel does not absorb chemicals. I would make sure all the pieces of liner were removed, then wash the barrels out thoroughly, dry them, and use them for the feed. That's perfect to keep out the mice and other rodents.
According to recommendations that I came across, in order to not have to do crop rotation, I am supposed to place 6 each, 5 gallon buckets of cured compost on each 100 square feet of area in the garden per year. This is supposed to provide/replenish the micronutrients and beneficial organisms...
WalMart came because the city council voted for tax breaks for them to come here/there! Believe me, WalMart is NOT going to just come into town on their own dollar. They get tax free breaks for as much as five or ten years, the city (YOU & ME!) picks up the tab for the roads and sewage systems...
"Some people think that the Federal Reserve Banks are United States Government institutions. They are private monopolies which prey upon the people of these United States for the benefit of themselves and their foreign customers; foreign and domestic speculators and swindlers; and rich and...
The Federal Reserve is completely run by multi-national corporations.
The government has absolutely nothing to do with it, either by influence or action. That's why corporations run this country. If you think they don't, tell me why they get everything they want. Look at the revolving...
I think Walmark used psychologists/psychiatrists to actually develop the layout of the stores. Have you noticed that the regular things that you need are at opposite corners/sides of the stores? That's so you have to walk past all the "sales" signs as they suck the dollars right out of your...
Your Grandma did not obtain that gold coin for you to turn around and sell. She's trying to give you something that can be a lifesaver if/when the economy fails. She's probably been through the Great Depression and remembers what it was like. If she hasn't, ask someone who has been through it...
I think sites like that do it for free because they take the contents of your information that you enter, and analyze it for market trends. There is no way in this rat race competitive world that they just do it to be nice. They're gathering marketing data and selling it to the corporations. If...
All this discussion about coupons is interesting, but what are the sources for your coupons? I know everybody has different sources for different areas. Let's hear some sources that people can access if they want the coupons.
Leta, thank you for the thorough explanation. I'm going to study the "system" and see if I can capitalize on it. What did you do in Facebook to "like" them? Search for the manufacturer and go through their products? That's new to me, so I have to ask. Thanks in advance!
It seems now that instead of the statement saying "doctors will be good enough to relieve us of the chore" a substantial number of people feel like it should read "the government will be good enough to relieve us from the chore".
When people say "stacking coupons" for an item, do they mean using multiple coupons for the same items? What stores let you do this? If they are so restrictive on coupons with all the requirements that have to be met, how can they simply let a person "stack" coupons when purchasing an item? A...
Boogity, that's great! I know the some of the folks really appreciate it when they see you bring it in, and some aren't able to recognize where it comes from, but they are still grateful to have the food. It's not about recognition anyway. It's about looking out for our brothers and sisters who...
Leta, I agree with you on the receipts. If you get receipts for EVERYTHING, you can post the data at your leisure. You don't have to try to do it from memory.
I stuff my receipts in my wallet, and when I get home, I put them in a sandwich bag with the name of the month on it. I enter the...
What we don't eat as we go along I'll can so we can enjoy them all year. If I have too much to can readily, I'll take the excess to the local soup kitchens for the hungry folks. A lot of those people would love to have a garden, but their current situations prohibit that from happening. We have...
