@CrealCritter no in garden here yet -- too wet, then job days, then sick tractor, more rain...tough spring!!
But your orchards are doing well 👍👍👍🥰
Wakening but taking my time today. Decided I'd relax a little and still get things done. Had 4 long, tough days at work, so slower pace today...
Dang....didn't your dryer die not toooo long ago? And AC .... And heater issues? Don't hold your breath but, is frig ok? :hide
All my "stuff" is pushing at 25 y/o. Hoping the older, better made holds a while longer!!! Not only do I not want the bill but, newer isn't better now.
Apples are way up this year 🤔 of course locally they're shipped because VA apples are a little later. I've got plenty of applesauce & apple butter BUT my milking doe expects one in her milk stand feed 😳. Just a thought.
None of the elderberries are big...well slightly bigger in a good year. Our July 2024 was super dry for area & some elderberries didn't form much. I don't have reds here, just black. So last yr I didn't harvest any. Plenty canned & frozen, so no big deal. I collect & process but don't use...
Just getting "started" -- initial wake up -- moving slow, careful, on auto pilot. :old standard morning routine gets you to the kitchen and coffee. Ahhhhh, finally things begin to work, hands, legs, mind. At some point you think "what's today gonna bring?"
Good morning all. 😄 Hope your...
Yep BYC has some great info to read! Most any chicken issue is there & fully discussed. Good info.
Hot & humid -- major mosquito season. They are about the size of a 747 I think -- nasty buggers! Add their friends the no see-ums and you need a hazmat suit. This drib & drab daily rain...
Obviously you need to separate it to work on the leg. What to do depends on where it's broken. Any pics? That young, if it's in the lower leg you might be able to make a "cast" with a couple match sticks & tape. 🤔. Really need to see it.
Glad to hear you're still among the living 🤣 long...
Yeah....once I finish getting them "together" 😂
There will be several green eggs layers from this group, a couple brown. Great, actually....have several blu & brown already. Sure would love to find some hens laying really blue, not light like most all do. They lay lighter with age, too. 🤷
8 are teaching each other to eat & drink in brooder😁 Two that escaped the shell this morn are still in incubator coming alive & drying. Surprised, as one seemed weak.
@flowerbug Most hens are not happy to take in unknown chicks. Silkies being exceptions! So while she's acting somewhat broodyish, you can't bank on it! Plus night time is the most opportunistic for adding chicks. I can't see that she's "setting" a nest anywhere stable. So while that would...
My menu changed up. Using up half a cabbage, adding chorizo sausage....shrimp can be later in week. Frig & freezer diving 😁. Gonna toss some taters in there, too.
Something with shrimp....had 2 bags lounging in freezer. A 1# bag will give me a couple nice meals. Haven't had seafood in a while. May just be steamed & buttered. 😂
