    Stuffed Acorn Squash

Thanks to Eggs4sale and the organic heirloom acorn squash seeds she sent me, we grew 2 and feed sacks full of acorns squash. (50lb sized feed sacks) Because of this weve gathered quite a few good squash recipes. I had most of the ingredients at my apt. so today I made this! I only did half and...

    Solar Laptop Charger?

Does anyone have any experience or info on using a solar laptop charger? I've considered this for over the last year but haven't any idea where to start... Though I know I probably won't take no for an answer. I WOULD be willing to pay quite a bit for a reliable one that will last for years to...

    Deer meat...

I'm used to a gamey flavor as we use it all just like 'normal' hamburger, enough that I guess I like it after eating it so long. Embrace the game! hehe.

    Bubblingbrooks Journey - Salut!

How long were they 'dried' off before? If they have been fine this long and have not been showing any signs of pain/swelling they should be fine - mastitis can form within hours, so if they don't have issues now and are mostly dried off as it is, there is probably no use in trying to milk them -...

    Deer meat...

Ok.. Forgive me for asking, but what is it about the taste of wild game that so many don't like? All of our red meat growing up was either deer or elk, so I guess I'm just used to it. It just tastes.. Real I guess, not sure how to explain it, but very real.

    BarredBuff's Homesteading Shenanigans

Hi BBuff! I was going to tell you, I remember saying that your Muscovy's (as ducklings) would be brown, and then was surprised when they were black, as mine were the same color - Wellllll, four out of five turned out to be black; the fourth was brown. I ended up with three drakes and two hens...

    Yogurt taffy aka yogurt leather

I have a hard time eating kefir plain, too. If anyone has had the storebought Lifeway brand raspberry kefir.. I can make a thicker, healthier version with the exact same taste, using fresh raw eggs, broccoli, carrots, frozen blueberries from a relative's patch and frozen red and yellow...

    Yogurt taffy aka yogurt leather

Remember that a lot (most) storebought yogurt is pasteurized, too! If you make your own yogurt and kefir, the taste is a lot different, likewise with the aftertaste, if any.
