at last the beekeeping people removed their carpeting and metal barrel from our property so i can get that area taken care of and i won't have to worry about disturbing the hives. they did put about a dozen hives in another area that doesn't block access to the back part of our lot.
yesterday we took some servings of mashed potatoes and meat loaf out of the freezer to have for dinner. all good later even if there was a bit of the potatoes that were still frozen after i warmed them up. crunchy potatoes of not the kind you'd expect... :)
very nice looking open field. :)
sunny here too, a lot of dew still on the grass so i'm not mowing yet even if i'd like to be (not really, but it would be nice to have it done before it gets really hot outside). i'll just have to take breaks to cool off.
have to rustle up some breakfast.
making progress. almost have the last bean garden weeded so i have a chance of getting it planted this week depending upon the weather and other things coming up.
the other day i was feeling rather blah because i felt so behind and the weather was looking like too much rain for me to get...
since i've retired the worm buckets recently i've just been drying some things out and then burying them in the gardens, or if i'm not worried about them sprouting i don't bother drying them at all.
not much yesterday other than sweeping most of the driveway (delivery guy tracked gravel and dirt from the road in when bringing in some mulch).
[the rest is in theory until i actually do it :) ]
today will be weeding some gravel areas/pathways. gardens too muddy from rains.
tomorrow mowing.
i've not been attacked by any hummingbirds but they do at times come flying by when i'm in the gardens as they can be curious and looking for you to feed them. yes, they know humans will feed them and i do think they are not too shy about asking... :) it's like being buzzed by a huge dragon...
strawberries (cold) with baked beans on top (also cold) along with some cheese slices (with hot sauce on them), prunes and chocolate frosting (that had pecans and coconut in it). yes, all together in one bowl...
it was delicious. :)
yesterday i made three quarts of tapioca pudding. that...
we just named our cell-phone. it's been a few years since we changed from the landline to this newfangled gadget (or is it a gidgit? )...
as Mom was talking to a few nieces this evening for a while taking some of the charge of the battery down when she plugged it back into it's little cradle...
yesterday was a day off. today was weeding this morning as much as i could get done and it is coming along. lots of rain means lots of mud, but this garden has ok drainage so it's not all bad. just takes more time.
came in, cooled off and took a break and no plans for going back outside...
today was a more productive day even if it started out hotter than yesterday. for some reason (perhaps because i had better sleep last night) i was able to work about three hours this morning and not get nauseated at all. yes, i was hot and tired and dripping sweat when i decided to stop but i...
no, it would be impractical (the rocks would prevent the heat from actually doing much unless you were dumping a rather large amount on) - it is more likely i would burn myself in the process.
ugh, went out this morning already to do some weeding inside the fenced gardens where i saw a lot of thistles coming up and pathways that needed weeds removed before they could drop seeds and then another two rock/decorative gardens that needed weeds removed from between all the rocks. luckily...
