I want to: Spin and weave - in fact I would like to raise the animal, shear it, wash, card...whatever else there is...dye the wool I guess? I would love to have a beginning to finish product. Preserving food - I would love to be one of those master preservers who knows like - EVERYTHING about...

Denim Deb Hay, hay, hay. Thank the Lord!

I used to get cramps. My midwife suggested mixed nuts. (and bananas). Yes, I know you are not in need of midwife type of advice, but the advice should be sound for cramps. And shouldn't hurt you even if it doesn't help.

Rathbone: Eggs for Hatching, Eggs for Eating, Eggs, Eggs, Eggs

Sooo... I got another mystery box on my front porch - bell peppers (14), onions (two bags) and squash (acorns, spaghetti, and butternut?). People here get commodoties but often don't eat up all the fresh veg. The big question is how to preserve it. I don't want anything to go to waste. We also...

Habaneros? I fold. Too hot for me. Here, no one cans so if someone did find a pressure cooker I think they wouldn't know what it is and probably junk it rather than sell it. Heck, what am I saying? I don't even know what it is for sure I am looking for. I wouldn't know a pressure cooker from a...

    WHAT ARE YOU CANNING TODAY?

So.... I am a newbie to canning. I tried my hand at salsa last night. All the recipes said I should seed the tomatoes. does anyone know why I would need to do that? The Ball Blue Book probably knows what it is talking about but I hate the idea of throwing away good food. It didn't say to seed...

    Canning for the first time

I am a newbie to canning also. I will second everyone else and say the Ball Blue Book and YouTube. I found canning overwhelming and intimidating. I finally took the leap and was surprised how easy it was. So, just jump in and make a small batch of jam. You will be hooked!
