    Anyone else have a Kindle?

My daughter has one and loves it. She prefers it over the nook because of the battery system. The nook has a prettier screen but has to be recharged constantly per what she says. I quoted on this because of the one chapter thing. I used to read the one chapter in the back of new books. I...

    WA HOO FarmerChick

Dryers are pretty basic and usually a pretty easy fix. If it's running but just not blowing hot air it may be a blocked up exhaust hose. If it's not turning it's probably the belt. Good luck.

Hillfarm - good news, thank heavens.

That's an easy one. It's only certain powers in charge. The ones that are stripping budgets of public schools are trying to create an uneducated work force. Next step get rid of federal minimum wages and rights and we're back to the good ole days. It's amazing stuff. I never thought I would see...

It's happening everywhere. They're trashing our most valuable asset and not even thinking about it.

US Approaching Insolvency says Dallas Fed President

The unions are the last line of defense against becoming simple slaves for them. That was what the whole WI thing was about. Had nothing to do with saving money. It was all about getting rid of unions. No collective bargaining means that eventually people will be paid whatever the employer...

US Approaching Insolvency says Dallas Fed President

Well we all know about the insolvency already. That was news 6 months ago even though it started many years ago. Some news I would like to hear is that they found a way to fix it without putting half of America on the streets under bridges. They need to both raise taxes and reduce spending. No...

US Approaching Insolvency says Dallas Fed President

Yeah those unions really got the power.;) 60% of the wealth has already been redistributed to the top 2% of the population. Was that the union plan? Funny how Wall Street is the only thing making money these days.

    recycling clothes

I know you're close to my age. Remember in HS when bell bottoms were real popular and girls would sew patterned material on to the bottoms and make the bell even bigger. I think that's cool the way the OP recycled like that.

Chernobyl - getting perspective on the damages

Of course there have always been agendas. The media has always been agendas. The media has always been used for that purpose. I didn't say anything about at this point in time. I wasn't hinting at anything with my comment about iodine. Just something I heard on the national news. I just don't...

Radiation Plume to hit Cali Tomorrow!

That's what I mean. It's very frustrating because everything is filtered and used to influence you in whichever manner is best for the supplier of info. Unless you have actual first hand knowledge, you don't really know.

    Interesting Japanese Observation

Lot of good points. The media is always focused on the bad stuff. I think it's because stories about people helping other people tend to be saved or days when there is no violence to report on. However the media is in business to make money so they will spin stories and show stories that bring...

Chernobyl - getting perspective on the damages

I've gotten so skeptical, that I don't believe anybody or anything except for those closest to me. There seems to be an agenda for everything. Whenever I don't follow my gut instinct I regret it. BTW. The FDA is putting out warnings to people loading up on Iodine and the side effects it causes...

Has anyone lost faith in the media?

Not bad. I don't quite understand why you specify the MSM though. The stuff I have seen and heard on the allegedly not MSM station is a lot worse than what I have ever heard on the MSM. The stuff you read on some of the websites that are referred to on this forum on a regular basis is a total...

The Studies on Radiation Poisoning IN THE USA

I still think they should impose a larger gas tax. Force people to reduce consumption. Yes it will raise prices. What are we going to do when there's no oil left. Solar and wind should be subsidized as much as they subsidize nuclear. Then maybe they could increase it from 2% to 8% or so. A...

    Interesting Japanese Observation

Mankind is human. There will always be trafficking in children and forced prostitution. Doesn't matter what the culture is. One of the highest level organizations in the world that represent Christians is infested with child abusers. Most of the goods we purchase in this country are produced in...
