well here is an update... both rabbit mama's are doing great! Babies are fully furred and a few have their eyes starting to open... We did lose a couple (moms just couldn't feed that many) I tried to bottle feed but that rarely goes well so we put them down... but we still have 16 little fatties...
:hugs hope he is ok! poor guy!
I thought it was weird when I seen you say it was too late to plant potatoes... I was like how on earth is it too late our ground is still frozen... then seen you are in florida... LOL
yeah but honestly they can still get blight if it is common in your area and the "guarantee" is that they will replace the potatoes seeds... you still have to pay to have the reshipped in some cases as well... and that doesn't help if it's ruined your whole years crops you were counting on... so...
I use store potatoes every year... just give them a good washing about a week before you plant... that way it washes off the stuff they spray them with and they start growing with no problems! I can't believe the prices places want for "seed" potatoes when you can buy 10lbs of regular potatoes...
Bunny sex is hilarious! I love how they stomp their feet afterward and such to tell all the other buns they just got some! :gig :bun
the weather here is insane today... first we had downpours of rain by the bucketfuls then it hailed... then the sun came out and about 30 mins after that it...
butter at walmart is 2.79 a lb... at aldis it's 2.49 but last week at sams club I could get 4lbs for 7.98 so less than 2 bucks a lb! but that is the cheapest I've seen it in a long while! My big thing is cheese! it's 3.30 a lb! and milk was 3.50 a gal last week... for around here that's high! :(
Drink chicken broth with loads of garlic or take a teaspoon of raw honey mixed with cinnamon that should help with your sore throat...
to boost your immune system... take lots of vitamins b's, c's, and D's along with echinacea (purple cone flower root) and lots of water...
if it moves into...
yeah if mine make it thought 30 degree nights with only a lightbulb to snuggle with I'm sure yours will be fine! :D besides it's always easier to clean up poo when it's already outside your house!
My DH hates chickens in the house even the cute little ones... so after the first week I put them outside... This is in early spring when the temps at night are still in the 30s... Here is how I do it... We have a Large insulated Dog house and I put a heat lamp on one side then put the chicks...
You know your SS when...
your son gets stung by a bee and instead of running in the house to get the first aid kit, you run around the yard hunting a weed then quickly pick it... chew it up... and spit the green glob out on his sting!
(I love plantain! my mother screamed and thought I was...
well Day 2 and babies are still all doing well! All 19 of them! woot!
The day was so beautiful out and I got a lot of yard work done... tidied up a bit and worked on the garden beds some more...
While outside one of the extra roos we have freeranging attacked my 3 year old... :somad She was...
I don't see why not! I can just about everything... it's worth a try... worst thing to happen it would get mooshie from being over cooked... As for safety... I've never had anything go bad as long as the lid seals...
It was beautiful here today as well! I made a homemade bator a few years back and it works pretty well! I just set some eggs in it tonight... I bought a silkie last year in hopes she would go broody for me... but nope! so looks like I'm raising chicks again myself this year...
there are several neat videos on youtube of how to build a box style trap and snares as well...
