    Food prices June 2021

Cheap apples can be had here in the late summer and fall. Well over on the east side of the mountains. Sometimes Hmart even buys big boxes of them to sell cheap. Small, unwashed and perfect for just running through my apple peeler

What did you do in your garden today?

Osoberries. Can see why Indian Plum is one of the common names. Huge seed. I picked a few big handfuls. Edited. Ate a few more. Think first one wasnt ripe. Taste reminds me a little of watermelon.

We played everything. About 12 of us. Most were Navy or ex-Navy. Same group for about 15 years. Haven't found a group we like here. Old 2nd ed AD&D, Gurps, Heros, Traveller, Shadowrun, Mechwarrior, Palladium. Sometimes we'd mix it up and play Battletech or Seakrieg. Random other games sometimes...

    What's for dinner?

We ate out. Too hot for us. I may take the air fryer out to the generator tomorrow and make us some baked potatoes. Or play with the charcoal grill more.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

There is still a big life expectancy gap between different races in the US. Blacks unfortunately have the highest infant mortality. Much of this is racial bias at hospitals and just overall poorer living areas. It does depend on state as well. Some states are just better at providing follow up...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Hubby and I have discussed this many times over the years. Often with our gaming group because of different campaigns. Learning stuff is needed for that with a bunch of nerds. That goes for the sci-fi stuff we did as well. Going back to pre-Renaissance (and somewhat during), make sure you don't...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

I love life expectancy information. It's really not understood by most and misrepresented by media and many others. Including government talking heads because they don't understand life expectancy is always broken into age cohorts because average life expectancy is useless for determining how...

What did you do in your garden today?

Watering the garden right now. Got my corn planted yesterday. 6, twelve foot rows. Broadcast some crimson clover over the squash and sunchokes. I'd just taken the scuffle hoe through the day before. That should help the weed issue.

My husband is going to get banned from driving my truck. First he knows it turns like a boat and he keeps using curbs as optional driving space. He tries to make tight turns I told him it won't do. He had to back up to make the right hand almost U turn into a restaurant drive through. Told him...
