    Who is homeschooling this year?

Two of mine are allergic to nuts.. and was a hassle/pain it was each year educating the teachers and staff on how to keep them safe.... then to have idiot teachers who just don't think it's a real threat and then have to rush a child to the E.R. (two times in one week) b/c of such idiot...

    How is homeschooling self sufficient?

Oh I love how this thread has turned into love for big families! (I was out of town, missed a bit) :clap We usually have strays... errr.. ummm.. friends, along w/ us wherever we go ;) So I too get annoyed w/ the "are these ALL yours" "did you give birth to all of them" etc.etc.... DH is...

    how much television

I've threatened to! :D I can't stand the t.v. being on all the time. There is one on in this house in any room, at any given time. <ggrrrrrrrrr> Not that it's being watched... but DH HAS to have one on for background noise. If I'm busy and one of the kids annoys him, he puts a movie on...

    Your Physical Self

Well...... now that I'm not working out of the home, I am able to cook more (most all) at home... I tend to eat a little more ... o.k.. a lot more. I munch all day long. If I'm cooking or baking I have to sample it.. and if it's good.. I have to have a serving (or two) ;) When I worked...

    Who is homeschooling this year?

Fall is my favorite season as well! Here's 1 example of a nature journal. The author of that blog writes: "Every nature journal is different, reflecting the interests, talents, and abilities of the author." We made homemade journals, though you can use anything! We took drawing paper...

Could you live in an 84 sq ft home?

We had to shove our family of 7 into a 500sq ft two winters ago, while we waited to get into the house we were in now. It was the only affordable rental in the area that was a seasonal rental (we didn't want a year long contract). We barely survived, we were so grouchy, wanted to all kill...

    Garbage collection...town or private...or self?

<grumble> <groan> I hate this bill! We pay ($20/month) and recently recieved a letter that it was going up (fuel surcharge). That covers one pick up per week for one garbage can full. If you have extra (like if you're out of town on p/u day, and have double garbage the next week) you...

    WHAT ARE YOU CANNING TODAY?

So when you can the chicken what do you put in w/ it? How do you do it? I was just discussing this w/ my mom last night. I know my grandma used to do it (I remember from when I was a kid) but she's not around anymore to ask.

    Who is homeschooling this year?

We are! :) This is our first year. Our year started in January, and runs through the summer. We'll take a break in the fall, and continue through the winter. I'd like to do more field trips in the winter, but w/ the weather that never seems to work out how we plan. Plus w/ gas this...

    How Self Sufficient Are We?

Hey, can I move in w/ you? :) I'd love to live like that, but highly doubt it'll ever happen! DH is so opposite of me. Now if I could just talk my brother into moving in w/ us, he'd help w/ alot of the work, and would love to help me get this place to be more self sufficient and...

    Really Cool Canned Cake Recipe

You have cake on you counter for a WEEK? :o That's unheard of here at our house! We're lucky if there's some left the next day! (for breakfast!) It's usually gone within an hour and someone's licking the frosting off the plate at that point. :) I think these are cute. I will try them...

Can you live without paper towels?

I use about a roll a year. (for greasy drippings mainly) Under our kitchen sink we keep a stack of rags, some old towels ripped to smaller size, others just cloth diapers, and other rags etc. I also keep baby wash cloths (the soft ones you know) for washing off messy toddler...

    What's for breakfast?

I had leftovers from 2 nights ago.... beef lomein. :) Tasted good, but didn't look so appealing as a breakfast. I had to take one of the kids to the Dr. and needed to grab something fast b/c I was running behind on time.

Hi Cackle, If you search through the websites that I linked to.... the work is freelance. You do it on your own (usually a dealine of some sort) but whoever you're doing that particular job through, I'm sure they're mostly negotiable. You could probably send via snail mail on a disc. Some...
