as things go the current problem (mentioned in the little wild kingdom thread) does certainly qualify as an unexpected plumbing problem.
no idea what is going on other than the pressure is now different with the new water heater but i've tried turning off the valve to the hot water heater...
haha, yes, i know it is edible and have eaten some of it in the past and could eat it again if needed. the problem is that it doesn't taste like chocolate. i do like it ok, just i like dill, fresh beans, peppers, onions and garlic a lot more and, ahem, chocolate...
maybe combined with lemon juice? i made gallons of what i thought i was going to turn into peach lemon butter but it turned out that after doing the first batch i had no desire to do another so i just canned the peach and lemon sauce as it was and called it that and eventually it got eaten...
we often take a can of mushrooms and use those instead of anything else. it works well for me as i avoid a lot of calories that would come from the Miracle Whip and ketchup i'd love to pile on with plenty of fresh chopped onions.
the hot water heater replacement works, but the faucets are not putting out very cold water. we've not had this sort of problem before (almost 30yrs) and it's not isolated to one faucet so there's something odd going on... normally the cold water is very very cold so it's really different to...
yesterday i was able to get the last part of the long garden along the pathway outside the fence finished weeding some purslane. i took 6 buckets of it out of an area less than 10ftx10ft and it was just getting ready to drop millions of seeds.
a bit ago i was reading up on it and found out...
we did have another small leak from that last heavy storm. it wasn't too bad and the roofing guy came out again to check it out and he did recaulk around the area where the leak is at so perhaps we're done. he said he wasn't sure if he got anything as he didn't notice any obvious issues but...
it was really nice. today not so... hotter, much more humid and not too much of a breeze while i had to get the grass mowed. glad that's now done! :)
90sF will be back for a few days and then another break for a few more and perhaps some rains again. we'll see...
wood floors all around except for a little bit of floor tile in a small utility room and the front entrance.
pretty easy to keep up (we don't wear dirty shoes in the house and we don't let people track dirt in and the floor will last longer than you will).
we've been here nearly 30yrs and it...
i may make some toast with butter and hot chocolate for breakfast. the AC has been on too much and my feet are frozen (the register in the kitchen comes out right at where we stand at the sink and i had to do some chores this morning already so brrr!). AC is now off... O.F.F... (tomorrow's...
haha, i know how that can go, one year we planted something like 15 cucumber plants (for two people and one of them doesn't even like cucumbers other than a few pickles here or there). we ended up giving away a lot of cucumber salad (cut up cucumbers (peeled if desired) with onions, mayo and if...
because it is hot outside and it would be a lot harder to keep them watered and alive - once it cools off seems like a better time to plant than now. but hey, who am i to say? :)
last night it was fresh blueberry pie filling (we normally don't bother with the graham cracker crust), it is basically fresh whole blueberries (not cooked at all - just sort out the fuzzy ones and pull off some stems and that's about it for them) and some pudding that is made from butter...
if your mouth is on fire you aren't noticing your back hurts... more seriously though there is a brain chemical released for some people who like hot foods - i'm still wimpy and don't like the superhots, but i do understand it having feasted in NM many times and cooked a lot of hot foods.
hot and humid this morning. i was glad i could get the garlic lifted and helped Mom with one of her bags of mulch and she was done too. good thing i stopped as after that bag of mulch i was starting to get overheated.
lifted the garlic today. about a month late. recent rains did not help but that's my fault for letting it go so long after being ready.
i planted it in two gardens, in the pepper garden (heavier soil with more clay but has been gardened for many years growing green, red and hot peppers)...
