Have fun at the hay auction! We have been doing the same thing, buying good quality 2011 cutting for rock bottom prices because our guys will begin cutting in another week at the latest. Makes for good savings on that end.
I hear you. At this point I am still trying to teach myself to cook. All these recipes just confuse me more. Hopefully one day I will know how to cook.
From my utterly unprepared self, let me tell you that I currently do not own one. I know, it's terrible. I can't seem to find the time to eat properly just yet. It is on my agenda for next years resolution.
Oh dear, you are doing all this by yourself???? I wish i would live closer, we could do fencing together. Always seems to go easier with two people. Stay strong, watch that knee :hugs
I hear you, but you are right, she is nuts. 1 for letting my husband go and hunt for some dirty rich dude, and 2 because she is greedy and stupid. She has been paying board for these horses for I think 12+ years and has come out to see them maybe twice. Horse people are interesting people, as...
Me and Mondays just don't get along. Seems like there is always "something" happening. As for now, I am the proud owner of a little wild bunny rabbit. I named him Elmer. Found him Sunday as the barn cats were trying to skin him alive. He had a huge injury to his back leg but walked fine on it...
I hear you. Husband said she is very greedy snd might want money for her. He didn't reme, ber how he worded that we could "take her in" if needed. I will only take her if she is free. My money is tied up in breeding. I will see how the next few days go.
You are so right! I basically grew up on bell peppers. We used them for goulasch and everything in between. I didn't get to eat water melon and banana and coconut until quite sometime after the wall came down. It is funny how each area experienced a similar food "revolution".
How interesting! Yes, the maturity is always such a big deal, even with the drafts. Many people start to drive their drafts when they are only 2 years old. I guess I am too much old school for that. I teach mine to ride before I drive them to preserve their gaits. When doing it the other way...
What a weekend! Aside from coming back to pure hell at work, things went very smooth. We had my husbands ex-girlfriends brother watch the place for Friday and Saturday and nothing exciting happened, which is a first. So we got to enjoy the Clydesdale Sale and all of the vendors and clinics. The...
Hey ORChick, thank you for sharing your story as well! We had a similar thing going on with relatives in the West (Westphalia- Unna) and they would always end us "care packages" with coffee in ti and board games that we couldn't get here. Erfurt is a beautiful city and oh so full of culture...
I will haev to do this! I just came form the Clydesdale sale and they had auctions on all kinds of stuff. We came in too late for most of it but it was VERY dangerous. My husband took my wallet to make sure I wouldn't go all crazy.
Funny you should mention this, Avalons registered name is Licrice and she too does that. Most of my other girls leave it mostly alone. I am always OCD when it comes to my foals, yearlings, pregnant mares, old mares, pretty much everything I have on the property and I have this nightmare that the...
Sounds exciting! Thank you for sharing your story. Land is expensive and everything is a process, dont feel bad. We have been eyeballing the neighbors 40acre lot for a while too but couldnt afford it right now so our horses have to share what is there. This year we will begin replanting all...
So glad to see you started a journal funny farm! What type of hores do you have? And how do you keep them on 5 acres? I find myself going nuts over rotational grazing, overseeding and fertilizing pasture, rotating manure piles, dirt paddocks, etc. Can you tell us more about how you handle all...
