It's the weekly make cheese day. I scooped off some cream & put a pint in the freezer. Next time I'll put it into small cube ice trays...they hold 1.5 tbsp. That's perfect to plop into a cup of hot tea. Yeah, taking advantage of this for winter use, when doe is dried off. Skimming does take...
Yesterday I had my one doe -- who consistently gets her head stuck in the fence -- stuck again. 🙄😖 She was also elusive when I was giving out dewormer the other day. Bingo!! She got hers before I helped turn her head to get the horns back thru. That'll teach you! 🤣 Opportunity.
Yeah, I'm a chocolate fan!! 😎 I buy dark chip chips to eat, not for cooking - although I do use when cooking. I keeps bags in freezer & enjoy every couple nights. While all chocolate is good, I prefer the dark rather than milk chocolate. And coconut. So an almond joy is lovely 😁
Sounds great....and also sounds like he took "the" ride. So, allowing for hang time to age, cut & wrap -- I'm thinking we could road trip to a Labor Day steak cookout!!! 😁 :old:thumbsup
Oh, yeah!! 😳😡 Same crap here....and speeding. I'm going 65 in a 60 and they barrel by me. I do as little city driving as possible. It's always a white knuckle trip. Some of these yahoos even wander onto our "narrow, windy" country roads -- especially with motorcycles.
And I hate to tell...
You know -- purslane is a good edible plant. Highest of all plants for omega3. Good protein. Slight lemony taste, good tossed into a green salad.
Chickens love it.....if you ever get any
No Flashflood near me or I'd sure consider offerings. Food waste is real 😞 Several stores in town provide such product to the various food banks. Especially church based ones.
Actually it's time for breeding, then the Jan/Feb kids arrive. Dislike the cold aspect but, worms, flies & other bacterias are far less rampant. Some good points. Pastures are dormant, not good for the goat moms but, hay & feed are provided. It balances out.
Rains again last night 😞 plus...
Well, 2 hens are setting eggs. Yeah, I tried taking eggs & breaking them up. Finally I just gave up 🤷 The one with 2 eggs left should hatch pretty soon...didn't write date I finally gave up. The one on my back porch, I marked & left 5 eggs. Labor day weekend hatch. If chicks happen, at...
I like the "meeting" idea. Are you still in TN? I believe that's where you were a few years back.
I grow bocking4 and have both elderberry & plantain wild grown on farm....along with many other wild grown things for homeopathic use. Notice how many OTC items are being added with various...
An almost day off....home all day. Did chores, all water tubs cleaned & refilled. Walked among the herd and talked to them. Wormed several with Valbazen, haven't used that in a while now. Glad I had almost a big bottle full -- another thing going up in price faster than a speeding bullet...
While it may not have a "peachy" flavor profile, it's sure a pretty picture! 😁. However, you're not there to grow a picture! Being redish, it's not even a good peach example picture.....sigh....I wouldn't grow more of that variety if the taste was just "ok" ish. The pit is sure clean to...
Maybe Hank likes the clean farm truck . Maybe he thinks it means a trip to the feed store -- getting a pig ear!!
Coffee is hot, strong and delish.
A pot of milk is heating to become cottage cheese. No orchard here but, a great milk factory 😁. If we were close we could share. Fruit &...
Attention anyone not informed -- A little scab doesn't you from stop eating them :old 😁 if it offends get a sharp knife...skin is very thin & comes right off.
Have a hankering for some baked beans. So I got a jar I canned from pantry for tonight. Not sure what I'll have with but, gonna have my crave fix.😊 Pulled a pint of canned chicken out chicken salad for lunches this week at work. Easy fix & healthy. Better get a loaf of bread going.
