I was talking with the director of the food pantry where I volunteer. Yes, there are concerns about the shortfall in the federal funding for food banks ($500 million cut) and the USDA commodity items.
What is unknown is:
1. what are the inventory levels in the Commodity warehouses.
2. how many...
We periodically had a mocking bird in San Jose way back when. I LOVED IT, except when it was in the wee hours of the night/morning and it wouldn't shut up.
It was a very very quick MOHs. About 40 min. I had brought some office work, and barely made a dent in it when Hubs came out. MOHs surgeon said to cancel the plastic surgery, cus this will heal on its own, from the inside out.
Thanks for the prayers and well wishes!!
There is talk of downward pressure on pork prices. Since we're not shipping as much to China all of a sudden. If so, I'll quickly use alot of what I've got frozen, and then restock. Don't know about beef prices tho, if they will be lowering.
It got up to 86 yesterday. I worked the afternoon shift at the food bank and it was WARM! Today and thru the weekend, we'll be cooling off by 15 - 20 degrees.
Today hubs goes in for his MOHs surgery on the spot right next to his tear duct. Then a plastic surgeon later in the afternoon, to see...

We got cold last nite! My thermometer said 32. Good thing all my starts are still in my greenhouse. Locals say don't plant in cold earth until after Mother's Day.
On Friday afternoon, I walked into our bedroom. There is wee little Tuna, growling softly, with something in her mouth. It was a mouse!! She's a good mouser.
Hubs got his first shot in his eye. 1 hour and 20 min of everyone but the Dr. Then it took 2 seconds for the shot. We go back in a month for another one.
I found some center cut boneless loin chops on clearance for $4. Cut those three things in half, flat wise, then dipped in flour, egg and instant mashed potatoes. Fried up with onions and yellow bells. Used an old jar of turkey gravy, served over real mashed potatoes. YUMMY!!
