Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

We're ok on rainfall I think. We've been getting the wet stuff on a semi regular basis. Darn sure don't want those kinda winds though. Nothing to do but wait and see I guess. (don't have a lot of faith in our weather predictors these days)

    the little wild kingdom

I went to several goat shows and fairs in Oklahoma. Something that they seem to love up there is....wait for it...BBQ'd bologna. You could find it at the fair in OKC We had a catered dinner at one of the goat shows and that's what they served us. BBQ'd bologna, baked beans and coleslaw. I...

I remember putting potato chips on a bologna sandwich when I was a kid. Couldn't beat that salty crunch!

Emergency Preparedness: How Ready Are You?

We stay pretty well stocked at all times. Spring storms w/possible tornados, summer/fall bring possible hurricanes and winter storms have been known to knock out our power for days also. We have gone all out with a storm shelter and generators. We have a big generator that will mostly run...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

ARGH - woke up to ants in my kitchen. No food out but they're congregated in the sink. What's up with that? I'll go out and check if there is a bed close to the foundation. Nothing else specific on the list this morning so I think I'll attack some clutter in the breezeway. It's a great...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Good morning! It's 8 o'clock and about to start my first cup of coffee. Only a couple hours later than usual. DH is still indulging in more shut-eye. Possible storms with up to 50mph wind gusts in the forecast. Hopefully, we're not sitting here with a big ol' target on us! Lately, most...

It was pretty tasty. Long time since I cooked a roast. Had a frozen yogurt bar for dessert!

    What's for dinner?

Broke out the crock pot this morning and started a roast. Half a bottle of red wine, a pkg of dry, beefy onion soup, onions and garlic and yummy! Some mashed potatoes (1/2 cup serving size) and steamed broccoli. We showed great restraint and didn't throw a pan of cornbread in the oven... :(

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

You are definitely NOT the only nut case, lol. I've been willingly fulfilling that role for many, many years! I mean - who wants a boring 'normal' life? Eeeeek! These guys have already been doing a little rooting in some soft ground. They're not really going more than about an inch deep...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Rooting is a negative for some folks - but I am not opposed to it in certain areas. They can root out weeds and turn the soil while fertilizing it. Not a terrible thing...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Yep - all my plans fell apart for multiple reasons. Turns out that I know some people who know the owners of the pigs and I got part of the back story. They have some real challenges with a special needs child and the sale of these pigs are hopefully going to help them out. I'm a real softie...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Oops! I might be about to do a thing. I blame it all on @Mini Horses. I'm going to look at some piglets one day this week. I couldn't find American Guinea Hogs close to home so I'm going to check out some KuneKune/Idaho Pasture Pig crosses. They are 10 miles from here and still small enough...
