Lovely house smells with coffee brew. Slept late, had turned alarms off for that. Now leisurely anticipating very little job work for couple weeks. Back to "winter prep" checklist. And decent, cooler weather to do it. 👍 Life is good.
Same here!! Hay in barns right here. Equipment to load. He's got barns across the street -- all stuff there. Hay in barns at his house 1/4 mile, same Rd, equipment there. Just not me who's had the same business dealings. 😵💫🙄. Yeah, he wants big buy & no questions. He will deliver. Volume...
Nope. Well kept fields. It's just him, personally.
He dislikes a pickup load sale. He likes 200-400 at a clip. Not wanting any look & pick types. Well, I ain't buying what they won't eat. He's testy...he's not a salesman. His son is better.
Suggesting 88 today, was that yesterday. We had cooled, then this week of hot, now heading back to a lovely 70-75 after today. Our little reminder of summer heat before jacket weather comes & stays. A system passing might give us rain tonight, nothing big. It's fine, could use a few drops...
That reminds me of grandmas! Waaay back then, bologna was a staple, found at many meals. Back then it wasn't Oscar Mayer slices. Nope, you had them cut a few pounds of off a humongous solid roll of it. Then wrapped in butcher paper.
Anyway, at a big chicken swap affair recently, one of the...
The rains may be ok, probably better without the wind!
It's beautiful here today, E coast. Mid 80s but low humidity and a nice breeze. Makes it pretty nice out there 😊
👍👍☺️. I like Ray! That's a nice looking little piggy.
Shame on you & the root pic. I just see a garden dug by other than me. Plus, they eat roots! 👍😎🤔
🫵 Trouble maker!
So NOW, I'm a little concerned at the thought of getting piglets, again. Ya see, I have a garden area that could use a winter "plow & eat the roots" session....a desire for more good tasting pork, and confidence I'm not the only nut case alive :old
It's real foggy this morning....so wet feel to everything. Not preferred but -- about 100-150' of visibility. No need to drive this early but a 10:30 aptmt. Should lift by then.
Oh, my!!:ep:lol::lol: wow -- my fault??? :hide
I've got a lot of kune-kune around. They don't root "as" badly with shorter noses.....I'm told. :idunno but four?? Really, four ?!?!? Plus, they visually seem to have more belly than my AGHs. I'll be interested to hear reports, from grow out...
Hello & welcome from VA. What general area in FL?
I used to have rentals & personal houses in Melbourne & Homestead -- before Homestead was leveled by hurricane & rebuilt. Sold out after that rebuild 🥴
@mkirkpatrick6411 Yes. Beef is expensive now. A friend who raises beef said they'd not be eating it if not raised, due to price 🤣. I'm definitely sending a goat to butcher this winter, home grown. Still looking for a pig...found 2 but need to schedule a drive time for pick up. Prob couple...
For me, the expense of $6 is better than buy a bush & nurture it. Primarily since the container provides more than my needs for a couple of years. I've made myself look harder at need/effort/cost in a better light. Like not devoting space to grow something I eat sparingly. 🤷 Garden math...
That's a strange claim...I do wonder 🤔
Spent yesterday at a 2x yrly meet up with fellow BYH forum members. The "swap" where we go has gotten huge -- almost tooooo huge. It's an all day off farm thing with each of us driving there 100 or so miles for marathon walking, shopping & lunch with...
Just reminding all -- shop well.
I wanted a supply of fresh bay leaves. The McC bottle was $4.69, .12 oz, many broken leaves. Went to the ethnic section of this groc store (I use this variety often) and bought .20 oz for $1.19, nice whole leaves in a small cellophane (?) bag.
A small item...
