Fri, so work. But weekend off -- what do I get? Frigid weather!! 😡 Big north winds, polar cold, predicting single digits again. More than my share of this!

I had a pan meal...pork chop, diced potatoes in oven. Heated corn in a pan in oven, too. Potatoes & corn prev canned. Chop fm freezer. No grocery shopping. 👍

Back to work -- sure changes your routines. Less lazy time. Chores, coffee, move it along faster. 🤣. Home...chores, then feed myself! Life in the fast lane still.

Hot tea, cream/ sugar. Black coffee & 3 cookies, out the door on way to work. :lol:

@CrealCritter chart looks promising for chill days. @Hinotori snow pack isn't a thing here. I know that I have had all the snow & chill I want :lol:

@murphysranch enjoy it while you can!! Even a day of 43* was terrific here. Been super cold past 2 weeks.

I've got 2 hens who went broody in past 5 days! Too early for that...too cold for Feb chicks! IMO. 🤣 One has no eggs & one has cornered 2 that she's daring me to snatch! She hatched 5 for me last yr.

Co-ordinate that with a bathroom call 🤣

Warmer today....high 30s for several hrs, plus sunshine. Some significant melting in some areas. Makes me happy for even that. 😁 A do over would be great, melting that is.

A jar of canned white beans, added to rest of ham/broth I'd canned ... I'd eaten 1/2 the ham earlier. 2 more empty jars 😁

I started late, too. Didn't get to bed until 2, slept until 9. 🤷🤫😁 Things happen. Trudged out for chores....cold but improving on that. Lower winds, just heavy breeze. Still cold!! 🥶🥶 Road was scraped this morning while I was feeding. Surprise!! But, still slick. Rescheduled job work from...

Howling winds last night. Woke to 3* as feel like! 😱. Made executive decision to go out in a short while later. Made homemade batch of pancakes. Ate & enough for tomorrow -- when I also don't expect to start a vehicle, same as today. Snow is overall 3-4" but drifts of 8-10" around. Winds...

@FarmerJamie you already have what we're being threatened with -- a huge amount of snow! It is bitter cold!! Hoping I'm prepared enough for animal chores. It will be challenging IF we get 6+ inches. 😵‍💫 Wait & see what tonight brings. But, coffee now! 😁 Talking to a neighbor yesterday...

My life has slowed rather than changed significantly. This is a place to socialize to a degree -- especially if you're home more that "out & about". A comfortable check in place.

Tonight I pulled a jar of ham I'd canned last spring and heated some, also some whole wheat crackers to chew. Was delicious ham. 👍 After chores at 15* this morn, a mad rush to work, home & more chores, still cold....well, I needed heat & eat!! 😵‍💫 Made the canning worth the time!!

Well I wouldn't expect less that a horrid summer, given the winter I've had here 🤬 Everything is stressed -- people, plants & animals.
