five years in the making. No telling how many wheel barrows and tractor buckets of wood chips, compost, manure, and hundreds of buckets of water carried.
today we started building soil in the newest part of the orchard. Cleaned out the chicken coop, rabbit hutch, and compost bin.
Soil building
well i got the incubator cleaned up, sanitized and tuned up. dissembled the fan motor and oiled it up. its hard on these little fans to run for 3 weeks straight with no breaks or maintenance.
anyhow im warming it up for another hatch. i think the temp got too high so im going to back the set...
21 so far. one more was zipping out. i wet it down with a spray bottle and closed it back up. well see
we got at least one olive egger. ive never gotten an olive egg to hatch before. pretty stoked
got the chicks i bought at the feed store moved outside to the grow out pen. the kids helped clean up the brooder and the eggs in the incubator are pipping.
