just candled. 62 fertile, viable eggs baking away. fingures crosses it was juat a temp issue and i got it straightened out

80 in. i hope they are all fertile and i get a 50% hatch rate

well i got the incubator cleaned up, sanitized and tuned up. dissembled the fan motor and oiled it up. its hard on these little fans to run for 3 weeks straight with no breaks or maintenance. anyhow im warming it up for another hatch. i think the temp got too high so im going to back the set...

most were mine. i move them around alot during incubation. maybe they got too hot? idk

i ended up with all these fully formed chicks. none even pipped. something went wrong. not sure what

21 so far. one more was zipping out. i wet it down with a spray bottle and closed it back up. well see we got at least one olive egger. ive never gotten an olive egg to hatch before. pretty stoked

there were some wet chicks in there this morning. so maybe they will keep hatching. gonna pull em after work

got the chicks i bought at the feed store moved outside to the grow out pen. the kids helped clean up the brooder and the eggs in the incubator are pipping.

its a tough market and it can be frustrating. i thought we were never gonna close on the right place and then we found this place a month later.

total harvest was 50lbs.

getting it done! thats alot of work. still have to finish rendering the lard and cure the bellies for bacon but we are there!

i still got half a pig to cut and pack. gotta get my but in gear..
