It holds 4 lbs. I used the same dimensions as the 4 lb mold on this page. I just need to get a dough cutter to use as the soap cutter. And I just realized when looking at that picture that I need to keep one end on while I cut!! :lol:

My dad and I made them when I went to visit him a couple weeks ago. He loves projects, and I love saving money, so it worked out great. :D

I agree. He should start at community college where he can work and take classes at the same time. He should knock out his basic classes and then transfer to an in-state school to save on tuition. Definitely look into scholarships and FAFSA. He can get student loans to help pay for school...

Hmm...that's three trips per day. Would you consider not letting the chickens free range while you're away? If you're just gone a day or two that's not a big deal for the chickens, and would lessen the load for the sitter. Sounds pretty easy though, so maybe $10 per day plus eggs?

I'm curious to see how the berry vanilla soap looks when I cut it tonight. This will be my second batch in my wood mold, and the first one didn't get any discoloration but I'm curious to see how it does w/ the vanilla. :fl

I ordered my scents from wholesalesuppliesplus.com. I got about 10 different trial-sized scents so I could play around and see which ones I liked best. So far I like all of them! Do you ever get a porky (or beefy) smell in the bars? I render lard, but then sometimes it still smells pretty porky.

I tried a new FO tonight (Berry Vanilla) and trace was WAY faster than with the other FOs. Smells good though, I hope it turns out nicely!

I do all kinds. I do needle felted scenes and ornaments. I also make things out of felted sweaters, like purses. And I knit and then felt items, like coffee sweaters (or cozies) or little change purses and things.

I do craft shows now and then but I only do one or two a year. Most "crafts" at craft shows are filled with el cheapo crafts like plasic canvas (yikes) and crazy patterned stuff. I just wouldn't sell ANYTHING at those, so why go? I'm doing on in December that's has a pretty good vendor list...
