We have lots of nettles in our barnyard. When my two oldest boys were younger, they used to take off their shirts and have nettles fights :ep That's entertainment when you live in the country :lol:

You can re-use the rubber rings. They get a little indentation from being held tight to the edge of the jar, and the directions say to flip them the next time you use them, so the indent is away from the jar. They are good for several uses.

I like them. I have re-used some 3 and 4 times with no problems so far. A few got a pinkish stain from tomato sauce that didn't wash off, but no biggee for me.

What attachments did you get? If you happen to have the food grinder with the fruit/veg strainer, you can make applesauce or tomato sauce fast & easy! It always amazes me when I watch that thing work!

I have a Bosch Universal, too. I got it because my KA overheated a couple of times kneading bread dough, and I could only make 2 loaves at a time with the KA. Now I use the Bosch for bread and the KA for everything else.

We went strawberry picking last weekend. I called the U-Pick patch we usually go to and asked what chemicals they use on their berries. The don't use methyl iodide, but do use two other chemicals. In the end we decided to drive 50 miles to an organic farm to pick.

Methyl iodide is actually used by scientists to produce cancer cells in labs. What are they thinking??!!?? Customers have no idea what they are buying with their strawberries, and so sad for the farm workers who would be exposed to it constantly.

So that's how normal people do it?? Trying to do what normal people do is way too stressful for me. I really don't own a toaster. I got tired of trying to slice my homemade bread thin enough to fit into the slots, so it went away at the last garage sale.
