    Frontier House?

I don't have TV either, but I'll give you a website that you can watch EVERYTHING on through your computer. Sometimes you will even find movies there before they hit the theater and nearly EVERY TV show is there within an hour or two after it airs.

The farm house from last season of Walking Dead would be nice too.

    Methane generators

I already have a septic tank/field, I wonder how difficult converting that system would be? I guess it already IS generating methane, just curious how to capture it. Anyone have any thoughts?

    what house would you like?

I think the Brady Bunch house would be nice if forced to live in a suburban environment, or maybe Leave it to Beaver, but definitely on board with Waltons or Little House On the Prairie.

    Advice on Strawberries please!

Yes, it is best to pull the blossom BEFORE it turns into a berry but you will have the same result if you pull the berry while it is still in the very early stage of development. As stated above, if the plant is spending energy to develop fruit, it has less energy to develop roots.

Plant Mutations - have you seen any?

Actually, these are hybrid and thus the seeds will most likely be worthless.

Plant Mutations - have you seen any?

I have some mutated carrots. We didn't eat all our carrots from the garden last year and this spring they started growing in the refer. I buried them to see what they would do, but a couple of them have really weird tops. One looks more like dill weed and another has really broad leafs.

    Advice on Strawberries please!

I started about 10 plants last year and got quite a few berries, but the "vines" or "runners" produced a LOT more plants. This year we moved them all into rows and have over 30 plants. I've been pinching the blossoms off and have no berries yet, but the vines/runners are taking off again. Maybe...

    Listerine

It keeps spiders away too! Way cheaper than Avon Skin so Soft if you can even buy that stuff any more.

    Listerine

I'm not sure if this is where this belongs, but I wanted to put it out there. Listerine, yes the antiseptic mouthwash is great for repelling insects! Put it in a spray bottle and spritz your clothes to keep mosquitos at bay and even spray around a picnic area or campsite. It does wear off sort...

    Pallets??

I like the furniture idea, but old pallets rarely end up in a landfill or burned, they most often are repaired and resold or ground into mulch and oatmeal wood...When they are burned it is usually in someones garage to provide heat for the workshop so even then I don't mind.

Idea on life without a tractor

Can't really think of anything off the top of my head right now, but if anyone has an issue with something, post it up and I bet I'll be able to come up with a solution or two. This is how I was raised...my grandfather could move/do ANYTHING without the assistance of another. He even taught me...

Oh yuck...now I know why I avoid processed food

Let's not even consider the huge percentage of SAND they use as filler...sorry, silica dioxide....and you don't even want to know what chicken nuggets are. What do you think fast food joints use to make their buns? Most people would assume wheat flour of some sort right? Try cotton seed hulls...

I am SO gonna tan her hide!!! What so ya think of the Ol'Girl now?

Don't mean to resurrect an old dead thread, but have any of you tried "brain tanning"? As odd as it may seem, an animal has just enough brain matter to tan its own hide! I found this tutorial online and it looks pretty good, check it out! Brain Tanning

    getting rid of fleas

Okay, any other ideas? In the past I have successfully used garlic, borax and even many over the counter dusts, shampoos and "spot" treatments such as frontline. The dog we have now came to us with a horrible infestation and we have been using all these methods for over a year now with...

Oh yuck...now I know why I avoid processed food

I didn't check out the link, but I know what it says. I drive a truck and know that if the temps on a refer aren't held properly ie the stuff gets warm and spoils, it gets sent to a processing facility where it is cooked and turned into another product like taco bell meat.....
