We have a fireplace we want to add some new brick to. I expect it to be quite a project. My better half wants new brick. I prefer the look of old, aged, cracked and worn brick. Who is going to win. Which type do you prefer? Old or new?

We tried this the other night after reading about it here. I was able to find some cedar planks and used them to fix the sockeye salmon we were having for dinner. Everyone loved it, although they don't have to fix it this way every week. We do cook salmon once a week in our household.
