We had late freezes this year, killed all my apple blossoms - so no apples, then we had TONS of rain in June and messed up some of my veggies. :rolleyes: You can't really prepare for those kinda things, if in fact that was the problem for you this year. I miss our Apples, its so much fun...

We use something similar for our large seasonal purchases - HAY (mostly) or fencing etc.. I have a little tupperware tub in my sewing cupboard and every week we put in $20 or so. When hay time comes around we have plenty of cash to buy as much as we need as well as paying for the gas to go...

My picky daughter does that all the time, she'll say she doens't like something she's never tried while I'm still cooking it! :th I found that if I get them to help me in the kitchen - its easier to get them to eat what they helped make, but some days I really don't have time or the patience to...

The lady I got some wool from for felting made little coats for her sheep - they sheered (sp?) them early in the spring, and now and then there were snow flurries and things like that, then all the naked sheep got a little coat to keep them warm. :lol:
