Yes as said above there should be a lever somewhere to act as a damper so you can shut the doors. Its ok to leave the doors open when starting the fire, but you don't want all the heat going up the stove pipe. So shut the doors and open the damper completely. When the fire has lite everything...

I have seen the micro crochet too. I have never tried any of them, the tiny hooks are difficult to use! Ha! I do love the rug though. I would imagine you would have to sit on the floor and crochet when it started to get big? :D Huge spaces needed to work on it. :)

LOL...I have lost shoes in mud holes too...just sucks them right off your foot!

Do not even mention the M word around here! Ha! Much of it is in the frozen state right now and should stay that way until M season starts back up in the spring. Some of this mud come spring could swallow an entire car. :gig

Yeah it is....ha! I am such a clean freak and all other aspects of my home are immaculate. However you could write wash me/clean me on any surface all the time around here. :ya

We heat exclusively with a wood stove in the winter. I couldn't live without a wood stove in the house. I grew up with one and it is the only way to heat. I love how it heats up everything in the house unlike a furnace that blows warm air around only dissipate moments later. We live on the edge...
