Learn something new everyday, turns out I have an allergy!

http://allergies.about.com/od/foodallergies/a/oas.htm Some reading on it, for those who are interested. It's linked to pollen allergies. I think that the Birch pollen is the one that triggers my allergy, I'll have to see if it happens after May. January to May is supposedly Birch pollen season..

Learn something new everyday, turns out I have an allergy!

It's inside the ear, where you would put a Q-tip. :) It's not just a reaction to food, when they itch it's an allergic reaction. :) I know that when my allergies to cats act up sometimes instead of a respiratory reaction it makes my ears itch. Just never thought I'd be allergic to fresh...

Learn something new everyday, turns out I have an allergy!

For as long as I can remember my lips and ear canal would tingle after eating certain fruits, especially cherries ad peaches. So finally I just googled it and it turns out it is "oral allergy syndrome" what an original name right? I always just thought it may have been some reaction to a...

    I want one!!!!

And people think scalding and plucking a chicken is bad! It's already a multiple person task to scald and scrape a NORMAL pig, could you imagine having to scald and scrape one of THOSE things!?!?! They are really cool looking though! I want one too. Just not 50 of them. LMAO

    .......goat questions.....

This seems to be the normal Jersey cow temperment from what I've read and heard. This is more of the type of animal I would like, sweet, laid back, and boring. LOL Sometimes goats are just too smart for their own good and like to keep their owners on their toes.

    .......goat questions.....

Oh I know!! They were the size of lap dogs and you would just pick them up and they would "meh" like a little stuffed animal. Oh my goodness, they were adoreable.

    .......goat questions.....

Well, I slept on it for a few days((and got away from those sinfully cute Nigerian Dwarf kids)) and came to the realization that I think a small dairy breed cow is more well suited for what I want. I've always wanted a Jersey cow, so I think I will just try to hold off for now. Which is going...

    .......goat questions.....

Okay okay, the breeder down the street, an aquantance of mine, is selling Nigerian Dwarf goats. She shows and breeds them and we stopped by today to see the baby goats(she has 17). I like the look and temperment of her goats, I've tasted the milk before.. Any input on Nigerian Dwarfs? All her...

For those that use TP...over? under?

"If" they go on the roll, then it's over the top. We lost the rod for the holder, so we just set the roll down. Much more conveniant than having to fight with a holder. In the master bathroom we actually just installed a pretty little shelf just the right size for a couple rolls of TP. Anyone...

    rock cornish hens?

They do sound aweful, but most people use it as a good thing come slaughter day. You're so tired of taking care of them, you're ready to say goodbye and send them on their way to freezer camp. As a friend of mine once said "You'll be so sick of those things, you'll be looking forward to the...

Purple Martins and other wild friends.

You can buy or make a bat house, maybe they'll hang around much more. Many people place something under their bat house to collect the guano, just make sure that it's not shiny and reflects light up into the house or it will disturb the bats. Bats, like a very similar set up to purple martins...

    rock cornish hens?

Honestly, having read about them for years and actually getting my first batch this year. I haven't heard them called affectionately by anyone. People love them for their efficiency and their growth rate, there really isn't much else to love about them. They were designed to eat and be eaten...

Purple Martins and other wild friends.

We have erected two purple martin houses this year and I think I saw the first scout yesterday. I came home to find a medium sized blackish bird flying in circles around the backyard, circling tighter and tighter, touched the purple martin house in the backyard and then flew off. I'm hoping...

    Trespassing?

LOL We had those guys pull up in our yard too. Adam was interested and went and looked to see what they had to offer, but you know what meat frozen in the back of a truck is just not appealing to me. I told hubby that if we are going to start trying to do steaks right, we would buy meat on the...

    Trespassing?

Census workers. If they come to the door and ask, that's fine, but I come home to anyone "snooping" around it's not good.

    Incubation help please.

I get this quite a bit with my eggs, the incubation goes well, but something gets botched in the hatch. I think humidity is the largest factor. You had such a good hatch rate though, I would dare say that those that didn't make it were just meant not to make it. I think sometimes chicks just get...

    Trespassing?

That house is really cool! I bet you had plenty of people drive by and take pictures. I know I may not have worked the courage to come and ask for a tour, but I definately would have taken some pictures from the road!

    Trespassing?

Tresspassing is annoying, it's even more annoying when people question why or act like you're the mean ol' grump who's out to make their life 'miserable'. Our heartache is the beautiful pond we share with our neighbors. Only two people own the land around it, one side is marshy while the other...
