ITA with Sylvie. Not to over-simplify the issue but in my world Monstanto is the devil. I hate them and frankly, find their practices, GMO's, & their army of attorneys flat out evil.
We are doing the Dave Ramsey thing this year. We have our emergency savings account now so it is time to pay off all debt. I hope to have all but the mortgage and those god-awful student loans gone by the end of this year.
Yesterday we found a guy locally who said we can have all the black walnuts we could haul. We showed up and got a couple of bags worth BUT they are not out of their pods yet. I grew up with a huge English Walnut tree that provided great nuts that fell out of their pods so boy was I disappointed...
I adopted my daughter from Liberia. I saw many smiling, malnurished faces.
People in 3rd world countries are not unaware. They know of food they cannot afford to buy. They know the internet exists. They watch TV...just normally it is one TV at a storefront and people gather around communally...
Wow. I wanted to weep for the Mali family. Makes you realize how blessed you really are... :(
The processed crap seemed to run over the American table. We don't eat like that so it throws me off when I stop and realize the bulk of our country does. The Indian family looked like that had GREAT...
DH and I once bought pallet loads of TVs from Goodwill for $60. We got about 20 TVs and sold them for $30 each to college students. We cleared almost $500 (a couple of the TVs didn't work properly...always a risk).

I voted for Obama and am a big supporter. That being said I do NOT think he deserved this award in the least. Nothing he has done even comes close to work done by past winners like Nelson Mandela, The Dalia Lama, Mother Theresa, etc. Frankly I was stunned and disappointed he accepted the award.
They hedge because it is a long process and they don't want to deal with the drawn out process. Too bad. Get in contact with the principal and tell her everything your son struggles with and tell the principal you want testing.
I am a teacher. I would insist upon testing at the school. If he is dyslexic, he will qualify for special education services. Those services will include specific reading therapies which will help him overcome dylsexia. They were probably hinting at it because they won't really test a child...
I just wish there was a cheap way to make the switch. We had new windows installed (thank you Obama and your tax credit) and our electric bill dropped from $300 to $170. That was helpful but it is going to take 6 years of that before we break even. ((((sigh))) I am born to homestead. I hate...
LMAOROTF of P.I.S.S.I!!!!!!! That cracked me up!:lau
We don't have much of a hearth and since we don't have an open concept home adding onto our hearth wouldn't be wise. We would have no place to walk. Come to think of it, I don't know where I would put the wood burning stove if I sealed up...
