I have a mixer, icecream maker and crockpot. Id like to try yogurt and cheese and jerky . i enjoy making my own bread when time allows. what would everyone reccomend? Yogurt makers? Cheese kits? Dehydrators? bread maker? Ps. it has to come from amazon.com because its a gift certificate

i dont know if it will work but we over boil for candy apples. then we pour into a butter greased pan and put the pan in the freezer and then smack it on the counter. it works but if you don't refridgerate it it sweats.

sorry i thought i said that i use it for smoothies and sorbet. I make a killer watermelon/cantelope sorbet.

any ideas for the rest? I have probably 1/2 a box of tomatoes, a 1/4 box of peppers and 25 lbs of peaches.

lori just a thought.. can you cook the meat and freeze it in easy to reheat portions? I had some chopped meat that thawed and i baked 3 trays of ziti and froze them. just thaw and warm up

i use the watermelon puree for sorbet and for smoothies :)

I did 9 quarts of pickled okra, 2 gallons of blanched okra ( freezer) 1 gallon of pink eyes ( freezer) 2 gallons Roma tomatoes ( freezer) and 1 gallon watermelon puree.

I'm going to can some cucumbers that a friend gave... the problem is he picked them on Friday and they have been on the counter since. I'd like to firm them up... will brining them help? they are not SOFT soft, but a little give when i squeeze. I'm going to pickle them in 1/2's.
