2000K rent!!!!!!!! some one slap me! Beekissed where are you!!!!!!!!

Wow. I'm at a loss for words. How dare we pretend anybody other than Christians have holidys!! The nerve! After all, acknowledging that other people exist and have feelings might somehow detract from the joy of Christian holidays. How is treating people other than yourself with respect...

    Budgeting for heat

Not entirely but we're keeping the house at an unlivably cold (IMO) temperature and raising it above that with wood. That's a good idea. Ohh, definitely worth looking into, thanks.

    Budgeting for groceries

I'm sure many are here for that reason. Personally, I am thinking less of doom and gloom end of the world as we know it and more about potential disability or unemployment. Of course. I appreciate that you have much greater information about how to live off of minimal resources during times...

Do you grind your own flour from whole grains?

It's lower in protein, so it could be a good pastry flour if your grinder does it finely enough, but ours doesn't. And it's not great for bread, at least, my dh hasn't made an edible loaf yet. The pizza (less need for rising) was good, though.

    Good Nites

Not offended. They're diapers (training pants, incontinence products, whatever you want to call it) for older children and young teenagers. Kinda like depends for adults and older teenagers. Interesting!!! Where do I get them, how much do they cost, etc?

Yes, I specified. They said they were considering that as an option in the future but that it wasn't an option now.

    Budgeting for groceries

Not a clue. I don't follow. And the closest processor is 45 m away. The windows are all too dark other than possible the mud room, which is under 32F. She's glad to let me garden and have animals. But the house is up for sale and I'm hesitating to have yet one MORE garden end up wasted when...

    Budgeting for groceries

OH, and I'm sure they're delicious., but the family isn't used to eating dessert on a regular basis, so I'm hoping to avoid that :) Frozen fruit makes great "ice cream" when put through the champion, too... but who eats ice cream or drinks smoothies in a blizzard? LOL Absolutely. But why...

Yes, next summer I can do that, but there's nothing now. They're all good ideas for six months from now, though.

2000K rent!!!!!!!! some one slap me! Beekissed where are you!!!!!!!!

Paying less to live in an inexpensive area doesn't always pay. I had a 100k house in Baltimore but we were driving back and forth to see family in NY once a month or so and it was killing us. I'd rather live on rented property in NY and be with family. The house we're renting for 1350 a...

    Budgeting for groceries

NO, at those prices I wouldn't buy them. Unfortunately, I seem to react to the pesticides in most citrus and can only eat the organically grown without my tongue and mouth itching and giving me pre anaphylactic type symptoms. For some reason, until this year, clementines were the only citrus...

    Budgeting for groceries

GOOD G-D NO! I paid 3 and change for 3 lbs of fruit. Apples, which we do eat. Citrus, which we eat in moderation. What else? The kids won't eat canned or dried fruit and I haven't a clue what to do with frozen other than smoothies. Suggestions? What new home? I've been in this new...

    Budgeting for heat

I didn't really have a choice. My credit sucks so they turned us down for oil delivery, so the landlady offered to set this up in her name. Working on the credit and THEN I can talk to them about dumping the payment plan. KWIM?

    Budgeting for groceries

According to that, my family needs (approximately) 180 a week on the thrifty plan. If I did the generous plan's math correctly, I'd need approximately THREE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS A WEEK. Where are they getting these numbers?!?!?!?
