That was the suggestion they made for her front legs, and it works great! Now, all I have to do is touch it on either leg, and she lifts her foot! On her back legs, they said to 'put pressure on the bursa, at the point of (his) hock' - I can't seem to get her to respond to that at all :\

FEM, :bow:bow:bow and a great big :hugsfrom Rocky!!! While he looked really strange (a German Shepard in 'T-shirt pants' isn't something ya see every day!) he is SOOOOO much better! The first day, he slept. And slept. And slept some more. Probably the first undisturbed sleep he's had in...

We had him on a prey diet for quite a while. He exhibited symptoms, even then. We were told to stop the prey diet and try a quality food, so we put him on Taste of the Wild. Not extremely pricey, but not cheap either. No fillers or soy. Things have gotten worse for him since then (he has...

In my horse magazine they had an article, showing I believe the Parelli method - where you massage their leg, then apply pressure, then release when they comply. I am having trouble getting her to respond to the bursa/hock pressure. DH will give it a try this Sunday, then I'll know if I was...

Thanks for the quick tip DD! I have been practicing with him a bit, though not as much as I should :\ Taking a few minutes out to update. From all appearances, Ice Cream is expecting! Hooray! Our only doe had babies, so we have 4 new furries in the barn! DH has *almost* completed the barn...

We are working on building a RP, or - if DH gets his way - a 60 x 90 arena that can be converted to a RP. That sounds great, but he would have to put gates in it and drive through it with the tractor or truck to get to the back pasture area. I don't care for that :\ So we keep going back and...

Quick update while I got a minute (OK, while I sit on my backside when I really should be doing something else!). Pig girls are growing well - I wish I could remember this breed cross, because they are really magnificent looking! I know they are part Hampshire, but forgot the other half of the...

Britesea - Living the good life in rural Oregon

Hubs desperately wants to make hard cider this year. Me, not so much :p My one attempt at ACV was a miserable failure - If you try and it works out for ya, please post how you did it?! All the fruits and veggies around here are running WAY behind. I just finished dehydrating peppers, which...

hqueen's collection of Far From the Usual stuff.

They have pasture walks here and I've really wanted to go, but always forget! We need to go/research how to build up the land we just cleared - right now it looks like a dirty beach! :p

:hugs Was just checking in and read this - so sorry about... well, all of it FEM! God may not give us more than we can handle, but sometimes he sure tests the limits!!

Sorry I haven't posted. Health issues (nothing serious - just made me VERY tired and lethargic) and chores. DH is still working 6 days a week, 12 hours a day. I'm not complaining, mind you. It was nice to have enough to pay the taxes, insurance, hay, and feed - instead of being in a money...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Sure hope the weather improves for your visit! Lately, above us(those cray Canooks :D ), they've had some REALLY cold weather, and have shared it generously with us! I should NEVER see my breath at night during the summer! We've been told here to brace ourselves too - Canada will be sharing...

Denim Deb Hay, hay, hay. Thank the Lord!

I'm gonna check Baker Creek for those! Sounds like an interesting 'weird' thing for me to try (my niece asks me every year -"What weird thing did you plant this year?" She considers peanuts and brussel sprouts weird though :p ). My garden this year got away from me for the most part. Rabbits...

Denim Deb Hay, hay, hay. Thank the Lord!

I named one of our rabbits Thumper - not because he looks like the Bambi character (he's a jet black rex), but because, every time I put a treat in his cage, he gets all happy and starts thumping his feet! It's so cute!

    Guess I'll try again.

Buttercup gets her "hand surprise" this month...(no bull involved) Then hopefully she will give me a heifer for next Spring! Come on Doc - we know there was a bull involved at *some* point :plbb

    FarmerJamie - A new beginning

Nope, lots of rain. Just really cool night temps have been tricking the trees here into thinking it's fall I guess :idunno

    FarmerJamie - A new beginning

I headed out for last check the other night and could see my breath. Now, I noticed the big maple tree in my front yard is very confused - it has been turning/dropping leaves - that would be about 1 1/2 months too early for that!
