We went to a friends yesterday, 2 hrs one way. We stayed the night and when we got home the coop door was ripped open and there is a trail of feathers from the coop to our fence, a 5 1/2 ft wall. I'm sure its the neighbor's dog but we didn't see it. That is the only dog that has managed to...
I was watching some you tube videos while waiting on the canner and decided to look up cheese. All they were doing was heating up some milk and adding vinegar. Is it really that simple? The videos said they were making different types of cheese but seemed to be doing the same thing. Anyone...
I had a reaction to singulair back at the end of May and my Dr took me off. The allergist I've been seeing for the past 4 years couldn't get me in until the end of September so I called around and found a new Dr. He told me to stop taking all meds 10 days before my apt and the itching is...
For the first time in over 3 months we are getting wet. Not much, probably not measurable, but my porch has rain drops on it! Its a start and I'm hoping for no lightening.
On another forum I've been reading they are talking about the health care stuff. Many are encouraging taking advantage of everything possible to collapse the gov. I'm a bit worried about that attitude and was wondering how everyone is planning on taking care of things when it starts going down...
Any recipes on how to make it? I like to cook with it because my hubby won't eat veggies if he can see them so everything gets liquefied so it can't be picked out.
Our local grocery store doesn't carry it any more.
I was just watching the news and they were showing Vice President Biden talking about how they are working to have crops that don't depend on soil, water or fertilizer to thrive. Anyone have a clue of what he is talking about?
:frow Hi secret service. Its nothing bad.
I finally have it done. Well, mostly done. I still need to build the removable frames for the chicken wire and add shade cloth to the top. Then it will be completely done. Now I just need to see if I still have my green thumb...
I did a search and came up with a few threads, but not exactly what I was searching for. I want to know if anyone has or knows a name for(brand, model) a pasta machine that is electric and manual operation. I like motors but want the handle for back up.
Any suggestions?
I just took some chicken (raw pack, pints) out of my pressure canner. 3 of the jars were boiling and 4 weren't. What would cause this? Is it something to be concerned about? In case you haven't guessed I just got this canner a few weeks ago and I am still learning how to use it.
Oh, I waited...
I have a question on canners that the directions aren't clear on. When you start and are venting the steam, is it an occasional stream or constant stream? My stove burner was on high but I never got a constant stream of steam. I processed the cans for 75 min like the directions said to and...
My girls were in private school in TX and we're on a system that had them doing a set number of workbooks to advance to the next grade. I don't remember the name of the system but I would like to start them back with something similar. Any ideas or suggestions?
My favorite old cookbook has a recipe for starter so I decided to try it. The recipe didn't specify what size bowl to use so I figured, 2 1/2 cups of water mixed with 2 cups of flower so I grabbed a bowl that holds 6 cups. It overflowed in less than an hr so I put it in a container twice that...
One of my co workers told me that they have lots of fish meds for emergencies. Aqua-pen and Cipro something or another. Are these safe for people? Do they work? I have penicillin for the horses but from what I've read its unrefined and can cause tenitus(sp?).
I've been looking at getting a grain mill, one that has a motor and a hand crank since we loose power here every time the wind blows. What do y'all use? Any suggestions?
