    What's for dinner?

Nothing about that surprises me... Is any of that hereditary? (glad you and your brother dodged that bullet!)

    Fish for Venison

Yum! Nothing better than a fish fry. (unless it's a crawfish boil!)

I bet those are some confused tomato plants!

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

I guess Monday is better than nothing - but that's a few extra days without pay - ugh.

    Experimenting with growing food indoors

Wow! Just wow! I like the idea of being able to grow something inside. I'm not handy like that - but maybe I can learn. I have done microgreens indoors and they're simple enough. I even put together a small aquaponic set up a couple years ago and grew a couple of tiny tomato plants in it...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Thanks. Who knows? However, I've still got several other pregnant does who haven't had any issues... :hu

    What's for dinner?

I love lettuce wraps and we have done that occasionally. He is a Tex-Mex food lover through and through, so he loves the low carb tortillas. Not that they're extremely low but at least they don't cause his blood sugar to spike.

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

One of my does aborted a baby yesterday. No idea why. I found it with no movement except for a heartbeat and an occasional shallow breath. Poor baby was probably a month early. No teeth, barely any hair and eyes sealed shut. No hope and its mama really didn't seem to have a bond with it. I...

    What's for dinner?

DH is having a beef and bean burrito wrapped in a low carb tortilla and topped with lots of cheese and sour cream. He's a happy guy. I wasn't feeling a tortilla, so I had my beef and beans over some cilantro lime rice.

    How we heat our homestead

That's cool! (or more appropriately - warm!) We're all electric and I've never loved that idea, but it is what it is. I received a notice today from my power supplier that I've used 156% more electricity this month than last. I know I'm not going to be pleased when the bill comes.

How we went from forest to food production

That's fantastic. What type of wood did you start with? I originally built my beds out of cedar and they didn't last long enough to suit me. I've been rebuilding with cinder blocks....they're really heavy, lol.

    The Freeze-Drying Thread

That's pretty amazing. I've dehydrated eggs. Not terrible scrambled - I'd eat 'em if I was really hungry. On another note - the dogs love 'em, lol!

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

It has been a lot more active in the past. Kind of goes through spurts and spells lately.

How we went from forest to food production

Love your setup! I really need gravel between my beds. It sure would cut down on my weed-whacking chores. Do you have trouble with the deer getting your fruit?

    Making Bratwurst

That's awesome and it looks delicious! I know that's a lot of work. I've made pan sausage with my home processed pork. It was really good.

Hunting and Fishing: What’s Your Take?

My neighbors keep me and my dogs stocked with venison. He tosses the shoulders over the fence to the LGD's. They're beginning to figure out that he's actually NOT the monster next door. If one of my pigs is kind of a PIA does that count as "wild" game? He seems to be fascinated with my...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Oh my goodness @Justanotherguy. Look at those little red cheeks! You're building memories that those little ones will never forget! It's too cold here (just north of the 29th parallel). I'm quite over it, lol. I think we get a couple of decent days before the next round of 'way too cold.'...
