Here I Be and There I Go!

What wonderful breeds!! Yes, the flocks do sound very similar! I've considered having BRs before and hear they are wonderful birds. Are they anything like the Partridge Rock? I love the Partridge Rocks But they can get skittish and timid often. Wow, what the collection! I absolutely love blue...

Here I Be and There I Go!

Well, then, I'm glad you've had good luck with them! If I ever considered doing meat birds down the road, I hear that the Cornish and the rainbow broilers are good. They're most popular in my area of Maine although I've never owned the rainbows of which I've heard are good for eggs and meat.

Here I Be and There I Go!

Wow, what a collection! I have 22 chickens (20 hens and two roos) and a male Guinea hen. I've thought of getting some poults sometime in the future or even some ducks, we'll see what it'd oughta bring. Sounds like a very good plan and I hope it all goes as you'd like. I hear that the white...

    Homemade natural body wash?

I have not tried using goat milk soap or anything of the realm, but from the helpful info I've gathered from Y'all, I may give it a shot! Thank you, everyone, for the advice! I've used coconut oil for so much and it's one of the most helpful ingredients I've ever invested in. The only thing is...

Here I Be and There I Go!

Indeed so, they're certainly top! :) I'm sorry to hear that you no longer have that amount. It's enjoyable having a large flock but if your current two are just as friendly, that's just as wonderful! I hear the OEG's are good birds and I've considered adding them to the flock! Would you...

Here I Be and There I Go!

So, there's nothing ultra new over here at the Homestead today except it being a fairly beautiful evening! This morning I got to see my first Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker. You see, birds are practically my life! I hope to have a career in Ornithology in the future and I love watching birds now...

Here I Be and There I Go!

Indeed, haha! Quite the busy place over here. Well, I've always had Buffs and they've been the first breed I ever owned. My mind juggles if I should get some Lavenders' in my next (future) order of chicks. Orpingtons are wonderful! Hello and thank you! Indeed so, there's a few here and a few...

Here I Be and There I Go!

Hello! Well, the ones I had mentioned are all cross bred. Magnum is a Buff Brahma/Delaware/Dorking, Bronze is a Buff Brahma/Delaware/Dorking/Faverolle and Annie is the same as Bronze! And thank you for visiting my journal! :D Let's see what I have; Orpingtons, Wyandottes, Partridge Rocks...

Here I Be and There I Go!

Well, to get the fun times started, this ought'a be my first entry! Bronze my young (assumed to be) Cockerel is turning into one sweet bird! Reminds me of his Father (Magnum) who I adore. My Father thinks Magnum would make one scrumptious roast but he's my baby... Then we have Annie. Annie is...

    Homemade natural body wash?

What I go by is comedic yet serious--why buy a product with ingredients you can't even pronounce? I try to stay as natural as possible with organic products that help your skin instead of hurting it. I've been trying natural body washes yet they don't do my skin good and end up stinging wounds...
