best remedy I stumbled on by accident playing around with essential oils is a tiny dab of lemon eo directly on the bite. sometimes it stings for a second then no itching ever again. The relief is almost instant.
should be able to get the same effects by making a pultice from lemon rind.
I take 6000 a day (for the last few months) and I have been noticably better.
From everything I have read the current guidelines are very out dated and the recommended max daily intake is 10,000IU for an adult. Side effect starting at 50,000IU daily for several months.
best stuff I've come up with hat handles mosquitos and ticks both is a blend of lemon eucolyptus and teatree essential oils. I'll have to experiment with the mints and vanillas too.
just a thought but salvage yards often have sets of used tires that are perfectly good for sale for 10$ a peice because its expensive to dispose of them they sell the tires cheap.
too true, there is a serious disconnect in the nation. I blame part of it on the federal government trying to do everything rather than leaving it up to individual states to handle. its easier to get a single state to agree than a whole nation of states.
so for now each of us does what we can...
people seem to forget that the governments are supposed to be representative of the will of the people. in theory, unless the people want it the government won't do it. (I know, I know, the government really doesn't work that way these days)
honestly don't believe anything Man could do short of some serious nuclea war could affect global warming or cooling, the sun has way to much power over that and the hot and cold cycles follow the sun spot activity pretty closely.
Polution on the other hand... nobody is poluting the world...
aside from the natural smells from your body (fromt he foods you eat like garlic, curry etc), most of the scent from body odor is from bacteria, anything that kills and blocks bacteria will help eliminate odor rather than cover it up with another smell.
some of the essential oils help - you can...
the problem with ducks is the wonderful little packages they will leave in the pool and the risk of bacteria that could make you very sick.
that artical talked about keeping babies and dogs out of the pool to avoid fecal matter.

the biotop...
good artical - answered a lot of my thoughts on the subject. I definately like this idea and it is a lot more complementary to a generally "green" lifestyle than a traditional pool.
I think it would require more than just aeration, ithink circulation would be essential. something to move a few hundred gallons per minute into the planted zone to filter back into the swimming hole would probably do the trick.
there should be many solar powered options available depending...
like a man mad pond that would stay clean enough for safe swimming?
I've thought about it, but I have a hard enough time with the fish tank in my office.
I think with a well designed natural filter bed and a solar powered pump to provide a steady flow it could be done.
haven't gone that far due to a shared genetic dandruff problem courtesy of my father (the type caused by fungus feeding off the dead skin cells along all hair lines, beard, side burns, scalp)
I normally shampoo every 3 days unless i get real dirty working, but i recently started adding tea...
thats the stuff I used with a lot of success.
its basicly just 30% lemon eucolyptus essential oil plus alchohal and solvents as carriers.
its cheaper to make your own from buying the pure essential oils.
combine it with tea tree oil and you have an even more powerful repelent that can...
cider presses are pretty simple by nature, what they really do for you is speed up the process and make it easier. the process basicly involved pressing the apples and some screening to keep the chunks out.
lots of ways to crush the apples :)
