So I tried an experiment with my Dehydrator and Freeze Dryer using the same amount of the fruit product ( Strawberries) After both batches were completed I noticed a huge difference in appearance and taste.
As you can figure it out the Freeze Dried batch was more successful in all accords , No knocking the dehydrator but will only be used to make jerky now .
Does anyone else have a story to share about their experiences with the same .

I still prefer my dehydrator for some items... I think shredded potatoes for hash browns come out with a better texture (FD ones tended to get too mushy for me). My biggest issue with the FD is simply the small load capacity- That can be a problem if you have 200 pounds of squash to process, lol.

I think there's still only one company that sells home freeze dryers- Harvest Right. I bought the mid-size one, and sometimes I wish I had bought the larger one, although it requires a dedicated circuit.
