This is a very old breed that has gone out of favor in our "modern" agriculture scene. They have been reported to be extinct so I'm glad to see that they are still around.:ya

A pigladoodle! :D

Did y'all check out how rich the soil was in that paddock???? The grass was so green and lush and the soil so black! My gardener's bone was jealous. :p

OK, so I contacted the breeder...and WOW!!!!!! This is the E Mail I got back from them.

Thanks for your interest in the pigs.

I can sell you breeding stock, or you can import them from Europe. To
my knowledge, those are your options.

I raise pigs on some farms in Iowa. Today's price for breeding stock
is $3,000 per head.

If you are interested, let me know, so we can proceed.

$3,000 PER PIG!?? Guess I wont be getting a wooly pig any time soon. :(

Now, if only you could milk them...

I don't really like the guy's attitude. "You can buy them from me or import them from Europe, those are your options" just seems very rude to me. I'm sure he probably gets a lot of "Holy crap, $3k for a pig?! Are you crazy?" responses, but still, no need to be rude right off the bat, simply ignore the crude responses instead of already having the 'tude before they even give a response.
