This should turn out to be a sticky subject. lol
I just wanted to let people know that Honey is naturally antibacterial. We watched a special on it and they said that if you put it on a cut, it will keep the nasties from getting in.

Yeah--I read about that! It's supposed to work as a poultice to help heal wounds, too. We use a spoonful in winter for itchy, irritated throats and ticklish coughs.

I did not know that. If I find myself without Neosporin, I'll just reach for the honey jar.

It needs to be RAW honey.

My husband broke both his legs almost two years ago, he had surgery on one leg, on the other the accident took a CHUNK out - I used raw honey, to dress the wound, and wrapped it up. It worked pretty well I'd say, he never got infected or anything, and the wound healed up well - it was really really gross....

Honey helps to prevent the dressing from sticking to the wound as well.

And one more tip - don't put too much on, I made that mistake and had melting honey running down his leg :D
