Well, we just bought a new Toyota, and while looking we were checking out hybrid cars. We came to the conclusion that, Hybrids are more expensive then regular cars.. So would you really save money? We don't think that you would really save money, you migh even lose some. What do you think?

I would get a calculator. and decide how much gas is will save you.

I know that with wood outdoor stoves it kinda like the same thing.
It aslo depends how far you drive daily.....

Generally, given the cost of the hybrid compared with the cost of maintaining your old car with OK gas mileage you are not saving any money.

If you are more concerned about using fossil fuels and air pollution from the internal combustion engine then the hybrid is a better deal.

It also depends on what assumptions you make about the lifespan of the batteries in the hybrid, and the cost of disposing of them and replacing with new.
