I have some asparagus crowns that I need to plant. The problem is I will probably move before they mature enough to eat. Do you think it would be ok to plant them in 5 gallon buckets for this year and transplant them into the ground next year after we move?

I think they will do fine in a 5 gallon bucket. You may want to plant one crown to a bucket though. The crowns on our mature plants get to maybe 2 feet in diameter, but I would think that starts will be small enought to fit in the bucket. I would think they would be ok in the bucket for a couple of years even.

Cool! ETA: Cool, because I do too, and still have not made the bed for them because I wanted to build up/break up the soil in that area first. Very thick clay soil.
