Our little black goat died. :hit We were going to have a funeral pyre, but there is still a burn ban in our county. So it's dig a hole and get lime, right? Is there anything else I could use?

I never bothered to do anything other than dig a hole and bury what ever died. Sorry you lost it.

How deep did you bury? I read that the hydrated lime is more for the smell and small critters like my dwarf goat should have 3-4' of soil on top. We do have coyotes and bobcats running the little creek at the back of our property. Burial is within electric fence, but it's been down more than once, you know?

Hey thanks. I know the ol' saying that if you have livestock, you also have dead stock. But it's always hard for me.

Livestock, deadstock, doesn't make it any easier. Sorry about your goat.
