Start with the manual that came with the machine so that you can become familiar with the order the ingredients are put into the machine and the way the machine works. Then you will find you will be able to adjust other recipes to work well in your machine.

A really good book is The Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cook Book by Beth Hensperger

Have fun!

There are also a number of recipes already on the board....

Spinach, Feta, Tomato & Basil Bread

1 1/8 cup warm water
1 cup chopped frozen spinach -defrosted, squeezed dry
3 Tablespoons olive oil
4 cups bread flour
6 oz crumbled feta cheese ( I use Athenos brand with Tomato & Basil)
1/2 Tablespoon dried basil
1 1/2 Tablespoons dried chopped tomatoes
1 1/2 Tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 3/4 teaspoons yeast

Mix in bread machine using dough feature. When done, remove from machine and divide dough in half. Flatten and roll each half and place in greased bread loaf pan. Let rise until double in size. Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes, until top is golden brown and bread sounds hollow when tapped on bottom. Remove bread immediately from pans and place on cooling rack. Cool completely before slicing.

If mixing and baking bread in a machine, program for medium crust and basic bread setting. This recipe is not suitable for use of delay timer.

If you didn't tell someone the feta was in the bread, I don't think they would notice it.

Keljonma--Thanks for the recipe! I have fresh spinach, frozen dried tomatoes and some feta my sister gave me before heading out of town, feta that my family really doesn't like. Now I know what to do with it!

Here are a few recipes I really like:

Whole-Wheat Honey Rolls
1 pkg yeast
1 cup buttermilk
cup butter, melted
3 T honey
2 cups whole-wheat flour
t salt
t baking soda

Dump ingredients in bread pan. Set for dough cycle. After removing dough from bread maker, cut into 12 sections, roll into balls and place in greased 9 cake pan. Let rise. Bake at 400 for 12-16 min.

Russian Black Bread--long ingredient list but very yummy. Shape into large round loaf and bake on cookie sheet for about 25 min at about 350.

1 cups water
2 T cider vinegar
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup rye flour
1 t salt
1 T vital wheat gluten
2 T oil
2 T dark corn syrup or molasses
1 T brown sugar
3 T cocoa powder
1 t instant coffee granules
1-3 T caraway seed
- fennel seed
1 t yeast

Winter Squash Rolls--set for dough cycle. Follow directions for rolls above.

cup pureed winter squash
cup scalded milk
2 t yeast
cup warm water
1 cups bread flour
2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 T wheat gluten
cup sugar
1 t salt
cup oil

Buttermilk Seed Bread
2 T yeast
t sugar
cup and 2 T warm water
cup buttermilk
1 T butter, melted
1 T and 1 t honey
1 t salt
2 T sesame seeds
2 T flax seeds
1 T poppy seeds
2 T sunflower seeds
2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 cup bread flour
1 T gluten

Assemble ingredients in bread maker.

Multigrain Bread
1 cup + 2 T water
1 T butter or oil
1 t salt
3 T sunflower seeds
2 T sesame seeds
2 T flax seeds
2 T millet
2 T quinoa
1 cup bread flour
2 cups whole-wheat flour
2 T dry milk powder
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 T yeast

Honey Flax Seed Bread
2 t yeast
4 T honey
1 T olive oil
1 t salt
1 cups + 2 T warm water
1 cup flax seed, ground
1 cups whole wheat flour
1 cups bread flour

Mix in bread pan. Set for multigrain dough. Enjoy!

Cinnabon Taste Alikes--naughty but incredible! Do NOT overbake, or they will lose their gooeyness that makes them just like Cinnabons

cup warm water
cup butter, melted
(3.4 ounces) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 cup warm milk
1 egg, room temp
1 tablespoon white sugar
teaspoon salt
4 cups bread flour
1 (0.25 ounce) package active dry yeast

cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
cup chopped pecans

(8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
cup butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
teaspoon vanilla

Combine first 9 ingredients in bread maker. Roll out dough and spread with cup butter. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans. Sprinkle over dough. Roll up, cut, placed in greased pan, let rise. Bake at 350 15-20 min. Stir together remaining ingredients and frost warm rolls.

2 tablespoons honey
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/4 cups bread flour
1 cup whole bran cereal

That is the machine I want, but not in the budget yet. Does your wife know how lucky she is?
