A quick google gave me some information....looks like a really cool story. So, not taking the baby was to protect all the numbers of people hiding in case the baby cried, maybe? If so, I still don't get the cookie/mouse bit. Wow, I'm dense tonight.

I have a client from Holland whose parents hid Jews and worked with the underground. She has great stories to tell of that time. I'll be sure to ask her about Papa ten Boom.

As I recall, this pastor didn't believe in "breaking the law" by hiding the Jews. That was why Papa Ten Boom said what he did.
