When I got home from prayer meeting, I found that I have a chick! But, I also noticed that the humidity in the incubator has dropped. It was around 80%, now it's down closer to 60%. I don't know if there's any other chicks that will be hatching or not. I'm not sure if I heard any others peeping or not. But, how concerned should I be w/the drop in humidity? And, if I do need to get it up, what's the best way to do it.

I'll be getting a few more from TSC this week. That way, I know for sure I'll have more than 1!

I have another pip, but it looks like it's on the wrong end. Hope it can get out OK.

Gotta confess. I worry more about the temp than the exact humidity. So long as I never run out of water, I do fine. I don't have 100% success, but close to it (well, except for the araucanas....I'm lucky for whatever I get with those).

Don't worry too much as long as it doesn't go below 55%. 80% is actually a bit high in my personal experience.

I agree 80% is a little high. 60% is probably better anyway. Yay on the chick!!!

I've read all kinds of different things on the humidity. For start up, some say 50%, some say 35%. For lock down, some say 80%, some say 60%. But, I got 2! That's more than I've ever gotten B4. And, I've learned a bit, so that's good. :)
