Anyone got a home remedy for ciggers / turkey mites. I stepped in a pile of them :(
They got into a hole in my rubber boot into my sock and did their dirty deed on my ankle. Some crawled up my leg also. I know their gone after soaking in the tub with some Palmolive original. But the blisters and itching is about to drive me nuts.

Wow, I'm itching here just looking at that! I'd try a washcloth with a little ammonia on it. Remember the movie "my big fat Greek wedding"? He used Windex for everything. Well, I had a small container of big bite stuff for camping once and it was great. I ran out. When I checked the ingredients, it was pure ammonia. We've been using ammonia ever since when bug bites are itchy and are driving us crazy. ( I know putting chemicals on my skin isn't good, but neither is itching to the point of drawing blood.)

I can't remember exactly but I think ciggers bite below the knee but turkey mites climb higher to bite. Ciggers are red / turkey mites are brown. Both are just a speck in size though. Both can tear you up :( but that's life in the heartland...

No plantain but I think we may have ammonia.

Wow, those guys are tiny!! Ammonia stinks, but only for a shirt time, and it does help with itching. Good luck, and let us know if it works for chiggers and mites.
