We talked with a local that makes goats milk soaps, and she told us that she scents hers by gathering the wanted scent in the wild and then "brewing" it in the olive oil that is for the recipes.

One of her soaps was a real spruce needle soap. It was ever so nice.
 
wow that's an awesome idea! thx for the tip! I planted some lavender last year and hope to have enough to dry and use in soap this up coming year!
 
That is a great idea. Makes good sense! I like using EVOO to make flavored cooking oils.
