Dexter Cattle

Does anyone here have experience with raising the Dexter cattle? I've been researching them and it seems like they would do well on a smaller farm but I was hoping to be able to talk to someone who has first hand knowledge of them..We have eight acres and would like to grow all of our own meat and it seems to me that these cows would make that possible.

SS Dreaming has raised mini cows. I know the one is part Jersey, but don't recall what the others were. Hopefully she'll chime in and tell you about her experiences w/them.

I have been breeding Dexters for 6 years. They are ideal for small acreages but how many depends on the quality of your land. Happy to discuss more...

We have eight acres...i would say 5 of it is all pasture, the people before us had horses...we are mostly just looking into them because we don't have a ton of land but we could devote a few acres to it..

What country are you in and what would you like to do with Dexters? Have you thought about milking one or two?
