nope not me, haven't looked into it ever.
Tony did research the converter for his Chevy 2500 truck to run on LP....but in the end it wasn't happening cause there are not any "gas" stations to get the LP when on the road. I believe you could go back and forth from gas to LP and such, but it wasn't worth the money to add the conversion if he truly couldn't use it.

you need ALOT of waste oil don't you???

let me know how it goes cause this is interesting definitely! best of luck on the conversion!

We watch "Dirty Jobs", and one of the episodes was about the guy who built his own prurifier - refiner for waste oil (from resturants) to burn in his truck. Basically he came up with DIesel (if I remember correctly). He said that by the time he got done the gas would only cost him like .10 cents a gallown.
We could not do that here, not a big enough town. Maybe the Dirty Jobs show has a website you could check out and find the guys name, maybe contact him.

Willy Nelson's tour bus. He's really in to it. Probably has info on his web site.

We will hopefully be making biodiesel by the end of this summer. We recently bought a 97 jetta diesel, and are also looking for a diesel pickup.

We have a friend who manages the restaurants at the Windsor Casino (Caesar's), so we wil be hopefully getting waste oil from him.

There is Lotsa info on biodiesel on the 'net. A byproduct of biod is glycerin ,and I am looking up uses for this also.

Hubby has researched biodiesel alot, and says it does not look to complicated (to him, anyways).

The only problem we can see so far about biod is that "it "will gel up in the winter. To go around this, you can switch easily back and froth from regular diesel, to biod, you can also run mixtures of the two. The only other issue is--after just having switched--you will probably go through alot fo filters--b/c the bid cleans all the gunk previously built up in your engine. If you are going to be seitching back to reg diesel in the winter, or running a mixture--plan to have alot of filters on hand.

My husband is researching it. He wants to convert our Jetta TDI now that it is finally paid for! We'll see if he ever actually does it though.

I researched into it a little. The one I was checking out had a switch to go between veg oil and diesel. I was freaked out knowing I would eventually shut it off while using oil and have a clogged up vehicle.
