This may not be what you want, but I just cut up an eye of round roast into strips and dehydrate, then cut those into little bits. Is square and wrinkled a "cute shape?" :p

This is the recipe I use - my dogs sit by the oven salivating whenever I make them.

Peanut Butter Dog Treats

2 cups whole-wheat flour (or all-purpose unbleached white flour)

1 tbsp. baking powder

1 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth) (smooth is easier to roll out!)

1 cup milk

Preheat oven to 375'F. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, whisk together peanut butter and milk, then add to dry ingredients and mix well. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Bake for 20 minutes on a greased baking sheet until lightly brown. Cool on a rack, then store in an airtight container.

I keep them in a ziploc - one batch for my 2 dogs lasts 2-3 weeks. I've never refrigerated and they've never gone moldy on me.

ETA: Keep a watch when baking - they can burn very quickly!
