Just going to start another journal with less stuff in it....just listing what I do and all that to vent out some farm frustrations etc...LOL-LOL

Need a place to just say whatever and this journal will do it.

So today was head cold and allergy killer day. Very tired.

BUT picked up 200 Red Sex Links a few days ago. They all lived and are fine and 1 laid an egg. Hmm...come on other 199...I need those eggs and need them now...HA HA

Fields being planted...etc. Full swing in spring here but chilly today.

Kid goats doing fine. Looks like I will keep about 3-4 nice does and send rest to sale in about 1 1/2 months.

Wormed, CDT shots, hoof trimming etc. of whole herd last week.

Still fixing the front end loader and almost done. Pushing down about 14 acres of trees to make new hay fields. Right now the cattle are in there and will move them to the other fields soon as we give it about 2-3 more weeks of pasture rest. The grass fields are growing nice now.

Rain coming I think...gotta watch the news.

What is it with planting time and rain????? Mother Nature must sit back and have a great laugh at it all you know!? LOL

Putting up swing set for Nicole next Monday or Tues. Good deal at Kmart and b-day present for her on April 15.....getting it up so she has something to play on.

Going to start working on getting the pool clean...ugh...nothing worse than that ugly green! :)

Dad's bass boat is back from the marina and doing as much fishing as possible. Told Tony we are finding boat time come heck or high water...time for some fun and fishing does that....relaxes both of us. Nice on the lake this time of year.

Nothing much more.....just work work work as usual on a farm.

Report in later....off to relax some.....head is so stuffed and best to just kick back when I can.

Hi darlin', glad you're back. I know what you are going through with the allergies...mine kicked in 2 weeks ago and my face was swollen. My husband kept trying not to laugh at me cause he knew I felt so bad but it was hard...I looked awful! :)

Yea I needed a place to just "say things" and this is a good spot...LOL

About 20,000 planted and we kept out about 5,000 to plant in a while. We have the bottoms that is alot cooler than the main fields and it is a micro climate. I can have almost spring onions into summer when I plant in that cool area.

How about you? You got that garden done yet? Here it is time to put it all in, but still watching out for that little frost that might happen...lol

OH BOY I know what you mean. The allergies are killers. I got some immune boosters from the health food store and they are helping me big time. They are clearing up the congestion alot. Who knew they would work so good...LOL----Dawn, the owner gives great advice on what to take. I like her alot.

But the allergies are such a pain! :(

Hang in there....we can only get better I hope..HA HA

Hey Gina

Hope you are doing good!!

Yea the farm kicks in and time is so little now. And when I do have some time I am pooped..>HA HA

I don't hardly want to fire up the 'puter when I am brain dead...LOL...mindless tv is easier to veg out in front of...I don't have to think and type..HA HA

Even though a busy time I love summer and can't wait for swim time! That is a big relaxer for me.

Thursday

nothing much happening but usual farm work.

rainy yesterday so ground is very wet. I hope the sun comes out today to get things drying up.

Feel better. Head is coming around and got more energy so that is always a good thing...LOL

Soap business is huge. I can not make enough to stay ahead and my other farmer markets haven't even opened yet....ugh...but good... :)

Soap deliveries today after dropping Nicole off at pre-school. One delivery is to my health food store so I will get more black cherry juice. That stuff keeps me from stiffening up big time. Works so well for me!!

Going off to fold laundry now and get moving cause it seems there is never enough time in the morning...lol

Planted flowers with Nicole the other day. She sure tore up the dirt everywhere but in the pots......but we had a blast. Flowers are thriving....should be a nice display of pots this season.

Power bill is great...only $78 this month. I sure cut that bill in 1/2 easily. I like keeping my money versus giving it to "them"---whoever they are..HA HA

Getting geared for camping. All frugal savings will be put to camping as much as possible this year. I want fun time anywhere I can squeeze it in this year!!!! Yea for vacations....we sure need them!!

Planning my trout fishing trip for middle April. Weather should be perfect and want to get away NOW.....so can't wait for that first trip!!

Hope everyone has a productive day!

I know what you mean with the power bill, ours is down to $98 from $130. Only problem is that Chad has gotten so used to it being cold in the house that when we get warmer in the summer he is going to kill me with the air conditioning!

How many goats do you milk everyday? I had read somewhere that someone milked first thing in the morning and then let the kids stay with mom the rest of the day and she only had to milk once. How much milk do you use for soap everyday? I'm curious and we are thinking of getting "a few" goats, you know how that goes!

Good job on lowering that bill Lori. I knew I wanted to stop giving so much to the power company.....lol....I do all I can to cut that bill now.

Goats are easy milkers, well, most are...LOL.......I milk whenever. No certain time at all. When I need a supply I just go down and get what I want. The first month I take less, so the kids can get a good supply. After a month when everyone is strong and the kids are testing feed etc. I take a little more from the doe. Works well for me. When I sell the kids at auction at 2 1/2 to 3 months, then I take all I can from the doe. Just a graduation use of the milk.

Good luck on getting your goats...they are fun but a big pain also..HA HA
